Purcell (6-3, 303) appeared in 15 games in 2016, starting five. He finished the season with 26 tackles and one forced fumble. Since signing with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2013, Purcell has appeared in 25 games, starting eight, and made 48 tackles, 2 sacks and one forced fumble.
Bradford (6-1, 248) was claimed off waivers from the Green Bay Packers in December. He appeared in just two games with the 49ers last season and made two tackles on defense and added two on special teams.
Exclusive rights free agents have fewer than three years of NFL experience and no ability to negotiate should their team present a qualifying offer. The tenders are not guaranteed. Last year, the 49ers tendered G Jordan Devey and he ended up getting cut on May 6.
