Filmmaker Michael Moore gave a speech at the Women's March on Washington saying, "we have to take over the Democratic Party." He did that while wearing a San Francisco 49ers hat.

Donald Trump's election as President of the United States has been very controversial, which is evident by the numerous marches of protest taking place across the country on Saturday.


In November, Moore showed up unannounced at Trump Tower in New York to arrange an interview with the then-President-elect. He was wearing a 49ers hat that day as well. Moore has been vocal about his support of quarterback Colin Kaepernick's protest of the national anthem and his wearing of a 49ers hat has been an apparent nod to that.

"Colin Kaepernick did the MOST American of things: Stand up - or sit down - for what u believe in," Moore tweeted out in August. Of course, as most NFL fans know by now, Kaepernick kneeled during pre-game national anthems this past season. It was his way to protest what he calls unjust actions by this country.

Kaepernick was not a fan of Trump or Hilary Clinton and spoke about the election back in November. "To me, it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates," Kaepernick said. "Both are proven liars, and it almost seems like they're trying to debate who is less racist, and at this point, I was talking to one of my friends who goes, 'You have to pick the lesser of two evils, but in the end, it's still evil.'"

The feeling was mutual from Trump. "I think it's personally not a good thing," Trump said of Kaepernick's protest in August during a radio interview on Seattle's KIRO. "I think it's a terrible thing. And, you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try. It won't happen."
