It is the first time that the organization is trying to fill both spots since 2005 when the 49ers hired Mike Nolan and then Scot McCloughan. The search and interview process will be led by 49ers CEO Jed York and Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Vice President of Football Operations Paraag Marathe.
"Ultimately, the decision will rest with me," York said on Monday of the hiring process. "I will look at people inside the building and continue to consult people outside of the building, folks that I trust, folks that are very well respected. But, our system and our structure is going to be a head coach and a general manager and ultimately that decision will rest with me."
Below is a list of the known interviews that have already taken place and will take place. The big news from today is the meeting with Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, the son of former Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan, who is considered to be one of the great young minds in the NFL. First, the 49ers will interview Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton – which was scheduled for early this morning.
