Wolf joined the Packers as a pro personnel assistant in 2004. He became assistant director of pro personnel in 2008 and assistant director of player personnel in 2011. In 2015, Wolf became the director of player personnel and in March of 2016, he was promoted to his current position with the Packers.
Eliot Wolf is the son of former NFL general manager Ron Wolf. "Most experts seem to think [Eliot] Wolf is next in line to take over the Packers when current GM Ted Thompson, who will be 64 in a few weeks, retires," said our own Jason Bertolucci. "Nonetheless, Albert Breer of The MMQB has connected the 49ers to the younger Wolf."
"Once Seattle's John Schneider signed his extension, the assumption became that Wolf would succeed Thompson in Green Bay, maybe very soon," said Breer back in December. "The rumor mill has also tied him to the Niners."
In addition to Wolf, the 49ers will interview Packers director of college scouting Brian Gutekunst, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
