Mike Silver of NFL Network is reporting that Kelly actually called 49ers CEO Jed York last night following reports of his impending firing. "It was not a warm and fuzzy conversation," Silver said.
Kelly has a meeting with ownership following the 49ers finale this afternoon against the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium. Kelly likely already knows his fate and the meeting may simply me a formality.
Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that players have not yet been informed of Kelly's future. The team remains focused on today's game.
Regardless, the 49ers will move on to their third head coach search in as many years. An official announcement regarding Baalke and Kelly is expected following the game against Seattle.
