Regardless of the result, Hyde's performance on Sunday was impressive. How impressive was it? Here is a look at some of the statistics from today's game that Hyde contributed to and where they place in 49ers history.
"Hyde produced the NFL's top elusive rating from Week 14 after averaging an astounding 8.0 yards after contact per attempt and collecting 78.1 percent of his yardage on runs of 15-plus yards," wrote Wes Huber of Pro Football Focus.
The 49ers offense as a whole rushed for a season-high 248 yards on 27 attempts. That's an average of 9.2 yards per carry. The 248 rushing yards are most in a game by the 49ers since December 20, 2014, when they had 355 rushing yards against the San Diego Chargers.
The 9.2 yards per carry are the second-highest single game average by the team in 49ers history. For the record, you will have to go all the way back to a 1952 matchup with the then-Dallas Texans (would become the Kansas City Chiefs) when the 49ers averaged 11 yards per carry.
The 193 yards eclipsed his previous career high of 168 yards that came during a Week 1 victory last season against the Minnesota Vikings. The performance was his second 100-yard rushing game of the season and just the third of his career. It ranks as the sixth-most rushing yards in a single game in 49ers history.
