Is there anything you can put your finger on as to why the offense played so well in the first half and then after halftime, there wasn't much production?

"We have to go out and make plays. I don't think there was one things that was, it just comes down to our execution and our ability to make plays when we have the opportunity."


You guys played the game without T Joe Staley but there were three other starters lost, injured. Do you feel like you were a little bit limited in what you could do offensively just because of that?

"You never want to lose starters. You don't expect injuries like that. But, we have to be able to adjust, adapt and go out and still win football games."

Head coach Chip Kelly blamed himself. He said he got maybe too conservative because of the situation. Would you have liked to keep the play calling a little more open, a little more passing?

"I think Chip is trying to do what's best for this team and put us in the best situation to win. Obviously, we had two linemen go down, two linemen that are very good for us. So, I think he was trying to put us, our line, our offense in the best situation to go out and succeed."


What does that do to just the psyche of the team to have this happen time and time again?

"It's something that we have to be able to fight through. We have to be able to change this course that we're on and when we're in these positions, we have to make plays at the end of the game, finish the game and be able to pull out a win."

Is it hard to believe you are 1-12 and have lost 12 in a row?

"Yeah. I've never been in this situation before. It's something that we have to change. Ultimately, it comes down to us being able to go out and fight for a win and we have to do a better job doing that."

You had 116 yards passing in the first half and I think like four yards in the second half and overtime. Was it something they were doing or was it just mistakes like what's happening?


"No. I don't know what the official stats are but once again, offensively we have to be better. We put up points early and in the second half, overtime, we didn't do a good enough job."

What specifically in the second half did you struggle with?

"We have to make plays. That's what it comes down to. Once again, if you don't go out and execute, don't go out and make plays, you're not going to put up anything on offense."

Did it have anything to do with the other team making adjustments to how well you guys played in the first half and you guy not making adjustments?

"Once again, they make adjustments, we make adjustments. That's part of football. But, ultimately, it comes down to execution."


On the team's ability to finish, is there one particular play or moment in today's game that will stick with you in that regard?

"I don't think there's one particular play. I think as a whole, we have to do a better job finishing. There's a lot of plays and a lot of opportunities all over the field that we have to be able to take advantage of."

On the fourth down play in overtime, have you had a chance to watch it? Are you confident that you made the right read on that one?

"Yeah. It was a run."

It was a straight run? No option?


"Our option is off the widest guy. So, no. In that situation, Chip had confidence that we would be able to get some push, get that first down and we didn't finish."

Is it difficult for you, I mean, you've had some adversity these last couple years but is this the most frustrating season for you on the field?

"It's something that, once again, we have to work through. Frustration isn't going to help us win. It's not going to help us change the course that we're on. We have to refocus again this week and get ready to go win."

Did you see your parents support you publicly on ESPN's Undefeated?

"I talk to my parents all the time. So, I already knew the supported me. But, I think they wanted everybody else to know that as well."
