Sacco was asked who he sees returning to the team from a list that included general manager Trent Baalke, head coach Chip Kelly, and quarterback Colin Kaepernick. "I think the answer to that question would depend on how the next five games play out," Sacco answered. "If it continues to go terrible and the Niners are 1-15 and they can't win a game at Chicago this week -- they're playing against third stringers basically -- then I think you've got to blow it all up, personally.
"But I think if things continue to kind of go status quo, the Niners continue to look a little bit better on offense, I think you bring Kelly back and I think you bring Kaepernick back and say, 'Let's see what we can do for another year.' And I think Baalke's got to go.
"The last thing Jed York wants to do right now is change coaches again. It would be the fourth coach in four years, next year with a new one and I think he hopes Kelly can do enough to stick around and I think that he will. And I think that eventually what he'll see is -- just because it's a York move to make -- is they'll promote Tom Gamble, stay with Chip Kelly and sort of stay status quo with Kelly and Gamble and what they're doing. And Kelly will have more power in the franchise and Gamble will try to build and try to improve.
"But I think those are the two that you want to keep and I just don't think there's any way they can keep Baalke. From what he's done to the roster, I don't think there's any way they can justify it."
