The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have officially signed former Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton to a one-year deal.
Skelton will join Colt McCoy as one of Colin Kaepernick's backups. Yesterday, the team released quarterback B.J. Daniels.
Skelton was drafted out of Fordham by the Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spend 2010 through 2012 with the Cardinals and then spent the 2013 training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
