The NFL has distributed compensatory picks for the 2024 NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have been awarded five additional selections, tied with the Los Angeles Rams for the most among all NFL teams this year. Following closely, the Philadelphia Eagles secured four total compensatory picks.

Compensatory picks are allocated to teams to offset the difference between losses and additions in free agency from the previous year and to reward the development of minority candidates who are hired into head coaching or general manager positions by other teams. The compensatory picks are positioned within the third through seventh rounds. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) limits the number of compensatory selections to 32 total, which means only some teams that meet the criteria for compensatory picks will receive compensation.

The 49ers and Rams each received an additional selection (in the third round) as part of the NFL's minority-hiring initiative for coaches and executives. However, San Francisco's goes to the Washington Commanders as part of the trade for defensive end Chase Young.
