49ers work out TE Phazahn Odom and S Tyson Graham

Apr 14, 2017 at 10:14 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers worked out Fordham TE Phazahn Odom and South Dakota S Tyson Graham, per NFL Draft Diamonds.

Odom, who is 6-foot-8 and 250 pounds, has great size and hands according to a scouting report prepared by NFL Draft Diamonds. "Odom is a versatile weapon that can line up on the offensive line, or out wide as a receiver," wrote Brandon Davis of NFL Draft Diamonds.

Odom ranked in the top five in receiving yards and touchdowns among all FCS tight ends during the 2015 season – his first year as a starter. He had 37 receptions for 492 yards and seven touchdowns in 2015. In 2016, he had just 14 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns through nine games.

The 49ers were among the teams that spent some extra time with Graham at South Dakota's pro day in March. The linebacker/safety hybrid joined the Coyotes as a wide receiver but moved to defense for his sophomore year. He spent the majority of his time playing safety for South Dakota.

NFL Draft Diamonds recently asked the 6-foot-2, 212-pound Pompano Beach, Florida native what traits separate him from others. "Physicality, being able to diagnose plays quickly, tackling, and versatility," Graham answered.

Graham compares himself to linebacker Deonne Buchannon of the Arizona Cardinals. "His physicality and versatility and just being able to be plugged in different positions all over the field and still have an impact on the game," he said.

"I'm the kind of the guy who comes in ready to work and get better day in and day out," Graham told NFL Draft Diamonds. "You won't have to worry about me off the field as well, as I know not only will my actions reflect myself but the team as well."

According to Christian Shanafelt of NFL Draft Bible, the 49ers ran the defensive back drills at South Dakota's pro day while the Saints ran the linebacker drills. Graham took part in both.
