Pro Football Focus released its player grades from the matchup. 49ers safety Jimmie Ward earned the game's highest grade (94.7), followed by Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (92.2).
Ward gave up just three receptions for 16 yards on eight targets, and Rams quarterback Jared Goff owned a 45.8 passer rating on passes thrown his way. He also stripped Rams running back Malcolm Brown to force a turnover in the first half. Later in the game, Goff coughed up the football following a hit by Ward.
Rookie defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw also received high marks for his performance. He finished the game with two tackles, an interception, and a touchdown.
On offense, guard Laken Tomlinson received the 49ers' highest grade with wide receiver Deebo Samuel close behind. Samuel hauled in 11 passes for 133 receiving yards in his first action since October 25. He averaged 12.4 yards after the catch per reception.
