On Monday, Jaquiski Tartt, who had been filling in for the injured Ward, went down in practice. Grant Cohn of the Press Democrat noticed that Tartt looked to be in a lot of pain following the injury.
Following practice, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about Tartt's injury but didn't have any details on the severity yet.
"We know it's rib-type stuff and they're going to look at it right now," Shanahan said.
Tartt was a second-round selection by the 49ers out of Samford in 2015.
