Recap: 49ers cruise to dominant 30-10 win over lowly Jaguars

By Kirk Larrabee

If the San Francisco 49ers wanted to prove they were indeed ready to make a push towards a playoff spot over the second half of the season, they needed to take care of business on the road Sunday against a lowly two-win Jacksonville Jaguars squad that headed into the weekend as one of the NFL's worst teams. They did exactly that, taking control of the game

The once-dismissed San Francisco 49ers have now won three of their last four with two consecutive routs of opponents. A week ago, it was the dismantling of a division rival, the Los Angeles Rams. Yesterday, the Niners dominated a struggling opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, to climb to .500. Next for San Francisco will be a matchup against another .500 team, the Minnesota Vikings, winners of two straight. A win against the Vikings could be enough to finally push the Niners into the playoff picture. Below is a breakdown of the current playoff picture in the NFC, with the first four teams being the division leaders. Here are my 14 observations from the 49ers dominant win over the Jaguars. The 49ers

When the San Francisco 49ers bullied their way to a Super Bowl appearance during the 2019 season, they did so with a dominant rushing attack. The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers didn't have an answer for it in the playoffs. The 49ers have won their last two games with their patient yet punishing ground attack. San Francisco ran the football 44 times against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10, nearly doubling their opponent's time of possession (39:03 to 20:57). When the 49ers first got their hands on the football, they set the tone for the game with an 11-minute drive, eventually winning 31-10. The 49ers offense opened the Week 11 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 20-play, 87-yard drive that lasted over 13 minutes. Again, it set the tone for
