49ers-Packers: Nick Bosa clears concussion protocol, set to play; other roster moves

The San Francisco 49ers have announced that defensive end Nick Bosa has cleared the concussion protocol. During Sunday's playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys, the pass rusher suffered the head injury. He did not practice with his teammates in Santa Clara on Tuesday, was limited on Wednesday, and was a full participant on Thursday. Bosa recorded 15.5 sacks, 52 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, 32 quarterback hits, and four forced fumbles during the regular season. He had three tackles, a quarterback hit, and half a sack during his 23 snaps against Dallas before exiting the game. Bosa was among three players listed as "questionable" for Saturday's game. Ambry Thomas' first NFL start came in Week 14, and it was a miserable outing. Yes, the San Francisco 49ers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 26-23, but the rookie cornerback surrendered three catches for 81 yards and a touchdown while being responsible for two penalties. Thomas earned the lowest overall Pro Football Focus grade of his six starts in that game. Those numbers have greatly improved since then. Thomas' 73.4 overall grade in Sunday's playoff win against the Dallas Cowboys was the rookie's highest of the season. He allowed two targets for 24 yards and just four total yards after the catch while recording a pass breakup. Thomas was inactive for five of the 49ers' first seven games. The San Francisco 49ers announced the following roster moves ahead of the team's Wild Card playoff game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Activated from the practice squad: DB Darqueze Dennard LB Mark Nzeocha The team also announced that punter Mitch Wishnowsky has been cleared from the concussion protocol. He has no injury designation ahead of this weekend's game. San Francisco enters the playoffs with a 10-7 record, while Dallas is 12-5.
