La Canfora: NFL execs can envision Texans-49ers trade should relationship with Deshaun Watson 'go nuclear'

The relationship between the Houston Texans and their star quarterback, Deshaun Watson, appears to have soured. The quarterback may have reached a breaking point and could contemplate a trade request if the situation doesn't improve.
Of course, that launched a flurry of speculation and trade scenarios on social media, mostly by fans who believe their teams should be on the phones immediately trying to strike some sort of deal with the Texans. That includes San Francisco 49ers fans, who, according to a recent poll, might be willing to sacrifice the future for the chance of adding a dynamic player like Watson.

Sherman (virtually and maybe in real life) laughed at the suggestion that Williams can't be allowed

The only problem is that the San Francisco 49ers knew they were getting Williams with just one season left on his contract. Now, they'll need to find a way to ensure the veteran tackle becomes one of the top-paid offensive linemen in the league. Williams is one of nearly 40 Niners who played last season on the final year of their contracts.
