Over the past couple of years the 49ers have been a dysfunctional organization. They've forced out a successful head coach, hired a successor who proved to be in over his head and sent all sorts of mixed messages about the balance of power within the organization. Jim Tomsula was given votes of confidence as head coach but then let go after just one very rough season.Now it appears there may be more of the same in store for 49ers fans.Though a new head coach, Chip Kelly, is in place and Kelly and general manager Trent Baalke insist they have good communication with each other and with all other members of the organization, communication looked anything but good on Thursday.Once again, the 49ers were sending out mixed messages.At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week, both Kelly and Baalke insisted that quarterback Colin Kaepernick wants to stay with the team. NFL Communications has officially announced the "NFL legends and active players" who will announce selections during Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Representing the San Francisco 49ers will be former defensive tackle Anthony "Spice" Adams, who spent four seasons with the team and nine in the NFL.
San Francisco selected Adams out of Penn State in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.

49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
