49ers, Raiders to hold joint practices in Las Vegas on August 10-11

The San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders will hold two joint practices ahead of their preseason game at Allegiant Stadium. That exhibition matchup will take place on Sunday, August 13, the 49ers announced. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the 49ers and Raiders will hold their joint practices on Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11. After the game against the Raiders, the 49ers will return to Levi's Stadium to host the Denver Broncos on Saturday, August 19, and Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, August 25, meaning the team will never leave the Pacific Time Zone during their exhibition

NFL Media's Cynthia Frelund took on her annual offseason task of identifying the league's most underappreciated player for each team. The San Francisco 49ers certainly have their share of play-making superstars, from names like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle on offense to Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and Talanoa Hufanga on defense. So how do you determine a team's "underappreciated" contributor? "First, I calculate and then rank each player's season-long contribution metric by team (win share)," Frelund explains. Have the 49ers anointed Brock Purdy too soon?

As the sun rose over the horizon, fans of the San Francisco 49ers came from all over, with great anticipation, as General Manager, John Lynch, slowly trudged his way upon the hill, disappearing into the fog for just a moment, and reappearing with Kyle Shanahan, to proclaim Brock Purdy the heir to the 49ers' QB throne. (Cue the "Circle of Life" track!) Alright, so it wasn't exactly like that. But the 49ers' brass has made it a point this offseason to ensure everyone knows Purdy is the team's starting quarterback, once he's healthy. And while it may have lacked the drama of a scene from The Lion King, the declaration was just as impactful. (You know, if we could have had Lynch look out over the kingdom, and then hold young Purdy up in front of the team's cheering
