Levi’s Stadium Put to the Test During First Game
Tens of thousands of sports fans flocked to Levi's Stadium Saturday night for the first ever game there, putting virtually every aspect of the new facility and the city of Santa Clara to the test.The San Francisco 49ers said they were pretty happy with the way things went Saturday night, but they said they are still looking for ways to improve.Nearly 50,000 fans attended the event, a great dress rehearsal to prepare for the 69,000 49ers fans that will attend the first game Aug. 17.Most of the people NBC Bay Area talked with said they were able to get through traffic and get to their parking sports easily.The Vice President of Stadium Operations said Saturday night's beta test went well."We're never going to stop looking to try to improve candidly, but...parking and traffic is always going to be a number one priority for us, so we'll look at that," Jim Mercurio said. 49ers assistant coach also suffered torn Achilles during Super Bowl

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw is currently rehabilitating after undergoing surgery for the torn Achilles he sustained last month during Super Bowl 58. He'll have a partner in his recovery, as he wasn't the only member of the team to suffer that specific injury.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meetings and revealed that defensive backs coach Daniel Bullocks also sustained a torn Achilles during the game.
"[It occurred] about five minutes after Dre's," Shanahan told reporters. "I think it was when [S] Ji'Ayir [Brown] got the interception, he just jumped up and cheered, very similar to Dre's, and his Achilles went too."

After falling just short of championship glory in February, the San Francisco 49ers are eyeing another opportunity in Super Bowl 59, and oddsmakers are backing their ambitions. The latest defeat was the second unsuccessful Super Bowl trip of the Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch era. Now, the Niners own the best odds in the league (+550) to finally hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy once more.
Super Bowl 59 will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

CB, Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama
The 49ers have three defensive backs in the last years of their contracts. Charvarius Ward is a veteran in the last year of his deal with the team, and Deommodore Lenoir and Ambry Thomas are playing in the last year of their rookie contracts. Kool-Aid McKinstry is one of the best outside corners in the 2024 NFL Draft.
McKinstry has excellent lateral agility, is strong in press-man coverage, and tackles well

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and his new wife, Jenna, attended Sunday's college basketball game to support their alma mater, Iowa State, as they faced Stanford in the second round of the women's NCAA basketball tournament.
"It means so much [to be here]," Purdy told the Associated Press. "As an alumni you're so proud to see the program do so well and going through this tournament and having the success that they've had. I've had their back. Blessed to be here to support them."
