On Monday, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan jumped on a conference call with reporters and provided several injury updates following Sunday's 19-12 Divisional Round playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys. The coach mentioned three players. Two were already known, based on post-game information. However, the third is a new development.

First, the known injuries. Charles Omenihu suffered an oblique strain that briefly forced the defensive end to exit the game. Shanahan says Omenihu is day-to-day leading to Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Running back Christian McCaffrey revealed that he fought through some bothersome calf discomfort against the Cowboys.

"I was fighting but made it through; made it through great," McCaffrey told reporters.

Shanahan said McCaffrey is day-to-day with a calf contusion.

The newcomer to the injury list is Elijah Mitchell. Shanahan said the second-year running back suffered a groin injury. He is also day-to-day. The coach was asked if there is any level of concern regarding McCaffrey and Mitchell's availability this weekend.

"No," Shanahan responded. "We're expecting to get them all back for Sunday, but we'll see how it goes through the week for practice and everything. Hopefully, it will go well, and that will get them ready for Sunday."

The 49ers and Eagles kick off from Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday at noon Pacific.

We play a lot of different days now, but nothing like watching our guys compete. But to me, this is really my favorite time of year as an organization because I think it represents our organization coming together and working for a common goal as much as anything we do. Brock Purdy hopes to organize throwing session ahead of 49ers training camp

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

The San Francisco 49ers will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through 6, officially concluding the team's offseason program. After that, the Niners will break for over a month and return to the Santa Clara facilities for training camp in late July. Between that time, starting quarterbacks will often organize throwing sessions with their receivers in an effort to build chemistry ahead of the rigors of training camp. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to participate in such sessions over the last two years. The last overall draft pick in 2022, Purdy had yet to make a name for himself during his first offseason. Last year, he was still recovering from offseason surgery on his throwing arm. RELATED:

The defender also goes by the name "Johnny." Breaking down the 49ers drafts under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan

By Marc Adams
Apr 20

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall. The trade-up to get Lance cost the 49ers their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023. And now that they are back in the first round, at pick 31, fans are anxious to see what the team does with the pick. And with former assistant GM, Adam Peters, now in Washington, it will be interesting to see how well the 49ers draft without Peters in the room. We looked back at the seven drafts GM John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan have led to see what information we could pull from those drafts. There were plenty of hits, plenty of misses, and a few surprises along the way. The draft picks are
