FanDuel Sportsbook listed the odds of the San Francisco 49ers winning Super Bowl 57 at +2000 just before Sunday's morning slate of games. After fumbling what should have been a breeze of a regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears, the team bounced back with a Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks and improved to 1-1.

Now, the 49ers' odds of winning are at +1800, per FanDuel Sportsbook. So what changed other than improving to .500 on the season? There was an unexpected change at quarterback.

San Francisco lost starter Trey Lance, who will undergo season-ending surgery on the broken ankle suffered during the first quarter of Sunday's 27-7 victory. Jimmy Garoppolo replaced Lance and guided the Niners to the bitter-sweet win.

Perhaps oddsmakers feel Garoppolo makes the team better than it was with the now-injured second-year quarterback. After all, Garoppolo led the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game last season, his second time doing so in a three-year span. This year's squad is arguably improved over last year's.

Oddsmakers have the 49ers are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the No. 8 spot. The Buffalo Bills (+490), Kansas City Chiefs (+700), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700), Green Bay Packers (+1300), Philadelphia Eagles (+1400), Los Angeles Chargers (+1500), and Los Angeles Rams (+1500) all have better odds.

San Francisco previously owned the tenth-best Super Bowl odds in the NFL. The 49ers' odds of representing the NFC in Super Bowl 57 jumped from +900 to +850.

After failing to find a trade partner for the quarterback, Garoppolo returned to the 49ers on a reworked one-year deal, signed just before the start of the season. He'll be the team's QB1 moving forward. Next, San Francisco will head on the road to face quarterback Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

49ers assistant coach also suffered torn Achilles during Super Bowl

By David Bonilla
Mar 26

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw is currently rehabilitating after undergoing surgery for the torn Achilles he sustained last month during Super Bowl 58. He'll have a partner in his recovery, as he wasn't the only member of the team to suffer that specific injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meetings and revealed that defensive backs coach Daniel Bullocks also sustained a torn Achilles during the game. "[It occurred] about five minutes after Dre's," Shanahan told reporters. "I think it was when [S] Ji'Ayir [Brown] got the interception, he just jumped up and cheered, very similar to Dre's, and his Achilles went too." Bullocks remained on the sideline and continued coaching throughout the

Jimmy Garoppolo explains why he signed with 49ers' division rival

By David Bonilla

Jimmy Garoppolo is back in the NFC West after signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback recently explained his decision to join the division rival after a one-season stint with the Las Vegas Raiders. "Obviously good players all around," Garoppolo said, per ESPN. "That's a big part of it. Talking to [head coach] Sean [McVay] on the phone, him just running me through offense and things that he had in mind, it really became appetizing. And I know a lot of the coaches here, so a lot of familiarity in that aspect. And then having played against the Rams a lot in my career, I've seen a lot of good things

Charvarius Ward willing to help 49ers land Tre'Davious White

By David Bonilla
Mar 18

The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand. Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Over the weekend, Ward took to social media to reveal that he and White share the same agent and that he is willing to nudge the free-agent defensive back in the right direction. Ward described White as a "hand in glove
