The Plays

Here are the results of the 1-on-1 battles between the receivers and defensive backs:

The Analysis

Brandon Aiyuk continued to dominate 1-on-1 reps, first beating Emmanuel Moseley deep for a touchdown, as the cornerback jumped early for the ball.

Then, Aiyuk quickly beat second-year cornerback Deommodore Lenoir on a good comeback route before winning easily against rookie cornerback Qwuantrezz Knight, who attempted to play press-coverage at the line of scrimmage to no avail.

Jauan Jennings bounced back in the 1-on-1 drills, winning against Dontae Johnson while making the catch following consecutive days with a drop during reps.

Rookie receiver Tay Martin continued his strong string of performances in 1-on-1s, beating Deommodore Lenoir on a rep, while running a good route against Knight on a different rep, although the ball fell incomplete. His combination of route-running and releases off the line of scrimmage continue to make him an intriguing candidate as a sixth receiver.

Veteran Malik Turner looked the part of an NFL-level receiver as well during 1-on-1s, beating Samuel Womack with a good catch and winning against Tariq Castro-Fields, who held him on a separate rep. Turner has had a good start to training camp, although he recorded a drop in 11-on-11s during Friday's practice.

Danny Gray continued his inconsistent performances, failing to get open on a 1-on-1 rep against Deommodore Lenoir, which has been a norm on certain days.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's practice report!

Brock Purdy hopes to organize throwing session ahead of 49ers training camp

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through 6, officially concluding the team's offseason program. After that, the Niners will break for over a month and return to the Santa Clara facilities for training camp in late July. Between that time, starting quarterbacks will often organize throwing sessions with their receivers in an effort to build chemistry ahead of the rigors of training camp. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to participate in such sessions over the last two years. The last overall draft pick in 2022, Purdy had yet to make a name for himself during his first offseason. Last year, he was still recovering from offseason surgery on his throwing arm. RELATED:
