The 49ers are hoping to make Levi's Stadium the host for Super Bowl 60 or 61, according to team president Al Guido.

Guido made the announcement at the 49ers' annual State of the Franchise event, which was recorded recently and was aired online for the first time on Wednesday. Levi's Stadium last hosted the game for Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016. Guido says the team hopes to bring the game back to Levi's Stadium in 2026 (Super Bowl LX) or 2027 (Super Bowl LXI).

"We are talking to the NFL and all of our partners around the ability to bring Super Bowl 60 and/or 61 back to the Bay Area and Levi's Stadium," said Guido.

The next Super Bowl (Super Bowl LVII) will be played in State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The Super Bowl will make its Las Vegas debut at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII, then will head to the Superdome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX in 2025.

The 49ers are also hoping to see World Cup games end up in Levi's Stadium in 2026. Hosting duties for the 2026 World Cup will be spread out between a number of cities in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. San Francisco is one of 16 U.S. cities bidding for what could be as many as 10 U.S. hosting sites.

Host winners will be announced Thursday. Other U.S. cities in the running include Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, D.C, while Mexico (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City) and Canada (Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver) have three cities each competing for bids.

"We have been bidding on the World Cup for 2026," said Guido said. "I think it's an amazing opportunity for all of us."

One former San Francisco 49ers player is making his opinion of Super Bowl 58 very clear. Former 49ers safety Donte Whitner, appearing this week on the "Up & Adam" show with Kay Adams, was vocal regarding the matchup and how certain circumstances seemed to favor the Chiefs. "And when we think about the Super Bowl as well, I think that the 49ers played against the refs as well, guys," Whitner told Adams. "I think that when we look at that film and you see bear hugs on those defensive ends, right? And you really see it in blatant moments in the game." Adams couldn't help but laugh at Whitner's comments, and the former player

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
