49ers-Rams on track to set a StubHub ticket sales record

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports that ticket sales for Sunday's NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium are on
pace to break a StubHub record. The matchup between the NFC West rivals, the third of the season, is set to become the best-selling playoff game in the history of the ticket sales site, not including the Super Bowl.
The 49ers have won six straight contests against the Rams, the last coming during the regular-season finale at SoFi Stadium. Sunday's matchup will send one of the two teams to the Super Bowl. For San Francisco, it could be the team's second trip to the big game in three years.
The Rams may have contributed to the surge in ticket sales. The Southern California team restricted sales by region through their official ticket distributor, Ticketmaster, likely resulting in increased sales on the secondary market. Ticketmaster later lifted that restriction.
The Week 18 contest saw 49ers fans outnumber Rams fans by what looked (and sounded) like a significant margin. The game at SoFi Stadium looked like a 49ers home game, frustrating the Rams. Quarterback
Matthew Stafford had to move to a silent count on offense because of the crowd noise. San Francisco won the overtime game 27-24.
"
It was a tough environment for us to communicate in really the whole second half," Stafford said after the game, per ESPN.
Meanwhile, the 49ers hope to see something similar when they kick off on Sunday.
"
The Faithful, they travel tremendously," quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said this week. "When you can get your fans behind you like that on a road game—we knew it before the game even started. There was a lot of red. You could see it. But once we started making plays and they started getting loud, it just changes the momentum of the game, I think. ... So hopefully, The Faithful will be out there loud and proud, and I know they're trying."

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk
Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture.
Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft.

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week.
"Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote.
