Defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans' stock is rising, especially after helping knock off the top-seeded Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field this past weekend. Even though he is a first-year coordinator, Ryans is a candidate for multiple NFL head-coaching vacancies.

The Minnesota Vikings interviewed him on Sunday. The Las Vegas Raiders are also interested. That interview, however, probably won't come this week. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Raiders are willing to wait until after Sunday's NFC Championship Game matchup between Ryans' 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams.

"That was the working expectation after Ryans' interview with Vikings on Sunday. Las Vegas not in [a] major rush," Fowler tweeted out on Monday morning.

That will keep the interview from becoming a distraction for Ryans as he and his team prepare to play their biggest game of the last two seasons. The 49ers are one win away from returning to the Super Bowl, potentially their second appearance in three years. Ryans' defense is a big reason the team is in this position.

The 49ers defense allowed just 17 points to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round and just 10 to the Packers on Saturday night. The unit finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in total yards allowed, No. 6 in passing yards allowed, No. 7 in rushing yards allowed, and No. 10 in points allowed.

Super Bowl 59 will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The team that dashed the 49ers' championship dreams in February, the Kansas City Chiefs, boast the second-best odds (+600) in the NFL to win Super Bowl 59. Among the NFC West teams, the Los Angeles Rams have the next-best odds after the 49ers, with distant +3500 odds,

Updated list of 49ers draft picks in 2024 after NFL penalty

By David Bonilla
Mar 18

The NFL has penalized the San Francisco 49ers for payroll accounting errors that occurred at the end of the 2022 league year. This has led to the team forfeiting their fifth-round draft pick in 2025 and a reduction in their fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft. San Francisco's fourth-round selection, initially No. 131 overall, now shifts down four spots to the end of the round at No. 135, following the compensatory picks from that round. Despite this setback, the 49ers still possess 10 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft but will be short a pick next year. The team's selections in the upcoming draft are as follows: Round 1, Pick 31 Overall Round
