The San Francisco 49ers announced the following roster moves ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

  • RB Trey Sermon placed on injured reserve
  • LB Tyrell Adams promoted from the practice squad to the active roster
  • WR River Cracraft and LB Justin March activated from the practice squad

The 49ers also announced that linebacker Marcell Harris has been downgraded from "questionable" to "out." Harris spent this past week in the concussion protocol and did not practice.

Sermon suffered an ankle injury during the 49ers' Week 12 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

"It's not [a high-ankle sprain], but it was a pretty bad one. He'll be out for a little while," head coach Kyle Shanahan said the day after the game before revealing that injured reserve was a possibility for the running back.

As expected, the 49ers didn't activate defensive end Dee Ford off injured reserve. The team opened his practice window on November 25, but the veteran pass rusher is still dealing with back issues.

"That just comes and goes," Shanahan told reporters after Friday's practice. "That's kind of how it's been. So that's why you're never quite sure. Thats' why he wasn't able to go later in this week, and most likely won't go on Sunday. We'll see how he is tomorrow, though, because that changes."

San Francisco enters Week 13 with a 6-5 record while Seattle is 3-8. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT from Lumen Field in Seattle. The 49ers are currently a 3.5-point favorite.

The two teams will announce their inactive players 90 minutes ahead of kickoff.

Brock Purdy hopes to organize throwing session ahead of 49ers training camp

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

The San Francisco 49ers will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through 6, officially concluding the team's offseason program. After that, the Niners will break for over a month and return to the Santa Clara facilities for training camp in late July. Between that time, starting quarterbacks will often organize throwing sessions with their receivers in an effort to build chemistry ahead of the rigors of training camp. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to participate in such sessions over the last two years. The last overall draft pick in 2022, Purdy had yet to make a name for himself during his first offseason. Last year, he was still recovering from offseason surgery on his throwing arm. RELATED:
