In just 10 games played this season and coming off a torn ACL last year, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has already racked up more sacks than he had in 2019 when he won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Bosa has 10 sacks in 10 games this year for the 49ers. [more]

Not everything was perfect for the San Francisco 49ers in their 28-21 win over the Green Bay Packers on Friday night, but there's no doubt the vibe coming out of the win was mostly positive. Trey Lance and the other 49ers quarterbacks played well in the win, going a combined 15-of-22 for 212 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. A number of rookie players got extended reps, and several of them did a fine job with their opportunities. Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan talked about those issues and more, while Lance, rookie cornerback Samuel Womack and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud were among those to meet with reporters. Here's a rundown of some of the key issues discussed, including what Shanahan thinks of Womack's performance to this point,

The San Francisco 49ers will hold their first padded practice on Monday. Most players look forward to it, welcoming sessions that feel a little more like game action. However, Star defensive end Nick Bosa doesn't mind the unpadded practices. In fact, he feels they greatly benefit him, despite the perception that the sessions are watered-down versions of their padded counterparts. "We're hitting out there," Bosa told reporters this past week. "Whether we have pads on or not, it's pretty much the same thing. But definitely, more power rushes will be used once the pads do come on. I kind of like the days without pads because it forces me to use finesse moves, which sometimes I get away from throughout the season because my power works a lot. "So just these two days

Tight end George Kittle is excited about the potential of the San Francisco 49ers offense in 2022. He knows Trey Lance at quarterback will open things up for an already creative play-caller like Kyle Shanahan. The always enthusiastic Kittle was among several 49ers players who joined KNBR after Tuesday's practice. Of course, the conversation eventually drifted toward the team's new starting quarterback. The tight end loves what he's seen from Lance compared to where the 22-year-old was just a year ago. "Honestly, my favorite thing about Trey right now is that I've just seen him get better, honestly," Kittle said on the Papa & Lund show. "From where he was last year in OTAs to where he was at training camp last year, to throughout the season last year, to even

The 49ers are just three days away from their preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers (8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT, Friday), a game that will give 49ers fans the chance to see a number of their team's players in on-field action for the first time. Two particular newcomers of interest to keep an eye on Friday night will be offensive lineman Spencer Burford and wide receiver/return specialist Ray-Ray McCloud. Burford is progressing towards starting as a rookie at right guard after being selected by the 49ers in Round 4 of the 2022 NFL Draft, while McCloud will be making his 49ers preseason debut after signing with the team as a free agent in the offseason. McCloud is expected to be the primary return specialist for the 49ers this season, but there's a chance he could also
