4th Quarter

GAME ALERT: The San Francisco 49ers win 30-10 to put themselves at 5-5 and further into the NFC playoff race. They'll face the Minnesota Vikings next week in a crucial game regarding playoff standings at Levi's Stadium.

In addition to Trey Lance, Trey Sermon, Aaron Banks, and Jaylon Moore are all in during San Francisco's final drive. The image of the 49ers' future.

Trey Lance has entered the game for what should be San Francisco's final drive during Sunday's game. San Francisco leads 30-10 with just two minutes left.

SCORE ALERT: Jacksonville finally reaches the endzone as James Robinson rushes in for a 1-yard touchdown to make it 30-10 with under four minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The rookie cornerbacks have been brought into the game for some meaningful playing time as this game reaches a close soon.

SACK ALERT: Right after his ninth sack, Nick Bosa chases Trevor Lawrence out of bounds for his career-high tenth sack of the season.

SACK ALERT: Nick Bosa gets his ninth sack of the season as he gets to Trevor Lawrence in the backfield. With his ninth of year, Bosa has now reached his career high that he established in his rookie season with an entire half of the season to go.

Ambry Thomas has entered the game in place of Emmanuel Moseley, per Matt Barrows of the Athletic.

As the 4th quarter begins, the 49ers still lead 27-3, bringing into question whether Trey Lance will see some action today in the latter portion of this game.

3rd Quarter

For the first time all morning, the 49ers are going to punt, after a Jimmy Garoppolo incompletion to Deebo Samuel.

SACK ALERT: The 49ers get their first sack of the game as Arden Key gets into the backfield for the second week in a row, which is something to keep an eye on going forward.

SCORE ALERT: This time, the 49ers go for it on 4th & Goal deep in Jacksonville territory, and Jimmy Garoppolo converts to George Kittle to put San Francisco up 27-3 in Jacksonville.

On 3rd & Goal at the JAX 1, the 49ers roll out Trent Williams as a receiver, but Jimmy Garoppolo overthrows him due to a surprise double coverage from Jacksonville.

Deebo Samuel gets his first catch of the game off of play action on San Francisco's first drive of the second half after not being targeted in the first half, but rather being utilized as a running back.

On Jacksonville's first drive, Trevor Lawrence and Co. can't get anything to work, as the Jaguars are forced into another 3 & out. San Francisco retains possession early in this 3rd quarter up 20-3.

INJURY UPDATE: Cornerback Shaquill Griffin(concussion) will NOT return to today's game.

2nd Quarter

SCORE ALERT: As the second quarter ends, Robbie Gould connects on a 48-yard field goal to put the 49ers up 20-3 at the half.

With under 20 seconds left and no timeouts, Jimmy Garoppolo hits Trey Sermon on a wheel route to put San Francisco into field goal range.

Kyle Shanahan has questionably run the clock all the way down during this two-minute drill, as he's essentially eliminated any chance for a touchdown happening.

After two poor offensive drives, Jacksonville has established some rhythm offensively, as Trevor Lawrence has led the Jaguars into the redzone, and now is 6/7 for 60 yards.

SCORE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo finds Brandon Aiyuk in the back of the endzone for a touchdown, as the second-year receiver wades through the defense to his spot on a nice throw from Jimmy G. The 49ers lead 17-0.

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Rayshawn Jenkins has been EJECTED after throwing a punch towards Jauan Jennings, who was blocking on the play. That penalty saves yet another 49ers drive, as the Jaguars had finally gotten a 3rd down stop.

With that fumble, 49ers cornerback Josh Norman now leads the NFL with six forced fumbles.

TURNOVER ALERT: On the first play of the drive, Laviska Shenault catches a pass from Trevor Lawrence, but Josh Norman forces the fumble, and the 49ers have the ball once again up 10-0.

SCORE ALERT: Deebo Samuel rushes it in for 25 yards from the backfield for a touchdown, bursting through the entire Jacksonville defense for a score. The 49ers lead 10-0 early in Jacksonville.

Brandon Aiyuk makes a couple of impressive catches, with a 34-yard catch and a 7-yard catch, to keep the 49ers moving down the field as the 2nd quarter prolongs.

1st Quarter

After the long 49ers drive taking up almost the entire 1st quarter, Jacksonville goes 3 & out, so the 49ers will get the ball back up 3-0 as the 1st quarter nears an end.

SCORE ALERT: After Jeff Wilson Jr. gets stuffed on 3rd & short, the 49ers surprisingly kick a field goal on 4th & 1 at the JAX 1, and now lead 3-0, with their drive taking up 20 plays and 13 minutes long.

On 2nd & 1 at the JAX 2, Jimmy Garoppolo, who had been perfect(completion percentage wise), misses a wide open Jeff Wilson Jr. for a touchdown on a poorly thrown ball, setting up 3rd down.

For the second time on the drive, a 3rd down penalty saves the 49ers, this time being an offsides penalty, as the 49ers get another free set of downs inside the redzone.

On the first drive of the game, the 49ers have milked the clock while moving the ball up the field, as their drive has already eclipsed nine minutes and stemmed deep into Jacksonville territory.

After successfully moving the ball to midfield, Jimmy Garoppolo is sacked on 3rd & long, killing the 49ers drive, but a holding penalty on Jacksonville gives the 49ers a free set of down.

Pregame

After suffering a fractured finger last against the Rams, running back Elijah Mitchell is OUT against Jacksonville. That means Jeff Wilson Jr. will draw the start with Trey Sermon serving as his backup.

The 49ers inactives are: RB Elijah Mitchell, DL Maurice Hurst, OL Colton McKivitz, and RB JaMycal Hasty.

One notable name, RB James Robinson, is not on this list. Despite having heel and knee injuries stemming from prior weeks, Robinson is expected to suit up and play.

The Jaguars inactives are: RB Devine Ozigbo, CB Tre Herndon, LB Dakota Allen, TE Jacob Hollister, and LB Jordan Smith.

By David Bonilla
Apr 18

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently shared his insights on the situation surrounding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk during an appearance on the network's "NFL Live" show. Schefter clarified that while Aiyuk would like to remain with the 49ers, his priority is securing a contract that reflects his value, regardless of the team. When questioned about Aiyuk's desire to stay with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Schefter responded, "Well, I think his desire to get paid is greater than his desire to stay in San Francisco, wherever that is. If the 49ers want to pay him, I'm sure he'd love to stay in San Francisco. If another team would like to pay him, I'm sure he'd like to go

If the San Francisco 49ers decide to trade wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, it's likely to occur within the next four days—before or during Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite some unconfirmed rumors, there has been no concrete indication that a trade is imminent. Previously, the 49ers had expressed a desire to retain Aiyuk for the foreseeable future. Aiyuk's agent, Ryan Williams, has swiftly refuted rumors, including one alleging that the receiver had requested a trade, claiming that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" the receiver.
