4th Quarter

FINAL ALERT: The 49ers defeat the Rams 31-10 following an impressive offensive performance from all their core players and a resilient defensive effort that was much improved compared to last week.

QUARTER ALERT: At the 2-minute warning, the 49ers lead 31-10 and have the ball on a 2nd & 10 at the LA 33-yard line.

SCORE ALERT: After a 49ers punt, Matthew Stafford marches the Rams down the field, largely due to a Cooper Kupp 25-yard reception, leading to a Matt Gay 37-yard field goal. The 49ers now lead 31-10 with under four minutes left in the game.

On 3rd & Goal at the SF 8, Nick Bosa sacks Matthew Stafford for an 8-yard loss, setting up a field goal attempt.

After a penalty on Matthew Stafford on 3rd down, the Rams have an incompletion on 4th & Goal kill their drive, as 49ers take over up 31-7 near their own endzone.

SACK ALERT: The 49ers finally get to Matt Stafford, as Arden Key sacks the quarterback on 1st & Goal to set up a long 2nd down attempt.

SCORE ALERT: On 4th and 6 from the LAR 40, Jimmy Garoppolo finds Deebo Samuel streaking over the ball for a 40-yard touchdown, giving San Francisco a 31-7 lead.

3rd Quarter

QUARTER ALERT: At the end of the 3rd quarter, the 49ers lead 24-7 and retain possession of the football heading into the 4th quarter.

On 3rd & 7 at the LAR 12, Tyler Higbee drops a pass from Matthew Stafford, forcing the Rams to punt again as the quarter concludes.

On the 49ers' following drive, Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. fail to gain much momentum and are forced to punt with less than a minute left in the 3rd quarter.

Matt Stafford's inaccuracy costs the Rams on two plays, and a Cooper Kupp drop leads to yet another punt for the Rams, still down 24-7 in the 3rd quarter.

SCORE ALERT: On the ensuing drive, the 49ers march down the field and after a costly 6-yard loss on an Elijah Mitchell run, the drive is killed, resulting in a 50-yard Robbie Gould field goal, giving the 49ers a 24-7 lead.

Talanoa Hufanga makes a major play on the ball on 3rd down, forcing a Matthew Stafford incompletion, and setting up a Los Angeles punt.

The Rams get a stop on the 49ers opening drive, as the Los Angeles pressure gets to Jimmy Garoppolo for a sack, setting up a San Francisco punt.

On the 1st play of the second half, Elijah Mitchell takes the toss to the outside for a 17-yard gain, starting the 49ers drive off with a bang.

2nd Quarter

QUARTER ALERT: At halftime, the 49ers lead 21-7 after breaking up the fake field goal attempt by the Los Angeles Rams, and will receive the ball to start the 2nd half.

On 4th down near the redzone, the Rams attempt a fake field goal, but D.J. Jones isn't fooled and makes a swift tackle short of the sticks to force the turnover and leave the Rams down 21-7 with halftime coming soon.

Azeez Al-Shaair makes two critical tackles on 2nd and 3rd down to force a field goal attempt from the Los Angeles Rams. With a lack of pass rush, the linebacker has had a huge impact on the game.

After the Deebo Samuel touchdown, Matt Stafford has developed a rhythm in a relatively clean pocket, finding Van Jefferson for a 33-yard completion, and leading the Rams back in to San Francisco territory.

TOUCHDOWN ALERT: Following a 12-yard Brandon Aiyuk completion, Deebo Samuel takes the handoff into the endzone for an 8-yard touchdown run, giving the 49ers a 21-7 lead.

On 3rd & 7, Jimmy Garoppolo, facing pressure from both Von Miller and Aaron Donald on the right side, fits in a high pass that Deebo Samuel corrals in and runs after the catch for a big time first down.

INJURY ALERT: Jaylon Moore(knee) is questionable to return at right tackle. Tom Compton, who filled in for Mike McGlinchey last week, is in for the time being.

TOUCHDOWN ALERT: Matthew Stafford finds Tyler Higbee over the middle for a touchdown on 3rd down with Fred Warner in coverage, cutting San Francisco's lead to 14-7.

Matthew Stafford finds Cooper Kupp wide open for a 29-yard pickup after a miscommunication by K'Waun Williams and Josh Norman, putting Los Angeles deep in San Francisco territory.

1st Quarter

QUARTER ALERT: At the end of the first quarter, the 49ers lead 14-0 thanks to two Jimmie Ward interceptions, which are his first since 2016. Ward's two interceptions tonight match his career total.

Despite being hampered by a rib injury all week, Josh Norman is out there tonight opposite Emmanuel Moseley on the boundary.

SCORE ALERT: After a dropped interception from Emmanuel Moseley, Jimmie Ward catches the deflection off Tyler Higbee for a 27-yard pick six to give the 49ers a 14-0 lead.

SCORE ALERT: On 3rd & 6 inside the redzone, Jimmy Garoppolo lofts a pass for George Kittle for an eight-yard touchdown, capping an 18-play, 93-yard drive lasting over 11 minutes to give the 49ers a 7-0 lead.

Utilizing a variety of running backs, the 49ers have traveled the distance on a long, grueling, opening drive, and are inside the redzone halfway through the first quarter.

Jeff Wilson Jr. makes his first carry of the season on the 49ers opening drive, gaining five yards, as San Francisco starts their opening drive with three straight runs following the interception.

TURNOVER ALERT: On a pass intended for Odell Beckham Jr., Matthew Stafford is intercepted by Jimmie Ward, who returned from injury this week, as the 49ers force a turnover on the opening drive.

Pregame

Trey Sermon, the 49ers' third round pick, is expected to be the third running back on the depth chart Monday, behind Jeff Wilson Jr., who did not log a snap last weekend after being activated off IR.

Along with Jaylon Moore, Talanoa Hufanga is expected to start for the second straight week at strong safety, this time opposite starter Jimmie Ward, as the rookie looks to bounce back from last week's poor showing against the Arizona Cardinals.

With the inactives confirmed, the 49ers will be dressing all eight members of their rookie class for Monday Night's game against the Rams. Aaron Banks gets the nod over McKivitz, while fellow rookie offensive lineman Jaylon Moore is expected to start at right tackle.

The 49ers have listed their inactives for the game: CB Dre Kirkpatrick, RB JaMycal Hasty, OL Colton McKivitz, and DT Maurice Hurst.

Notable actives for the Rams are their two new additions: WR Odell Beckham Jr., signed earlier this week, and LB Von Miller, who was traded for at the trade deadline from the Broncos. Woods, who suffered a torn ACL on Friday, is out for for the season

The Rams have listed their inactives for the game: WR Robert Woods, QB Bryce Perkins, CB Dont'e Deayon, TE Brycen Hopkins, OL Tremayne Anchrum Jr., OL Alaric Jackson, and LB Chris Garrett.

By David Bonilla

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently shared his insights on the situation surrounding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk during an appearance on the network's "NFL Live" show. Schefter clarified that while Aiyuk would like to remain with the 49ers, his priority is securing a contract that reflects his value, regardless of the team. When questioned about Aiyuk's desire to stay with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Schefter responded, "Well, I think his desire to get paid is greater than his desire to stay in San Francisco, wherever that is. Interestingly, both of the prospects identified by Reid and Miller play in the trenches but on different sides of the ball. The San Francisco 49ers are widely expected to draft an offensive lineman with their first selection—No. 31 overall. The team mostly ignored the group in free agency. However, it wouldn't surprise many people if the
