49ers injury updates: Kyle Shanahan talks K’Waun Williams, JaMycal Hasty, Kevin Givens, Maurice Hurst, Javon Kinlaw

The San Francisco 49ers are getting healthier. Kind of. There are still several missing pieces, like All-Pro tight end
George Kittle. But some other pieces are scheduled to return soon.
This week, the 49ers opened the practice window for running back JaMycal Hasty, who could be activated off injured reserve in time for this weekend's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Cornerback K'Waun Williams is practicing after missing the last two games due to a calf injury.
"It's nice to get Hasty back this week," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on KNBR's
Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks show. "He helped us out a lot in those first two games with doing some third-down routes and things like that, and running the ball.
"So, getting Hasty back should help us, and also getting K'Waun back this week. K'Waun has missed a number of games, not being our nickel back. So, just being able to add those two definitely helps."
Not everything is looking up, though. Shanahan was also asked about defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw. The coach's response was similar to
what he said yesterday about the second-year player.
"[The knee] hasn't been acting right, and it's been a real unfortunate thing for him and our team this year," Shanahan said. "We're still holding out hope, but it hasn't been looking good so far, and that's just some of the stuff that you've got to deal with."
Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst showed up on
today's injury report, with the 49ers indicating an issue with his calf.
"We looked at Mo Hurst today," Shanahan said. "It looked like he had a little bit of an injury, so I'm hoping that we'll get some good news on him going forward.
"I know we get [defensive tackle]
Kevin Givens back next week, who is our other 3-technique that we thought we'd have going into the year. So that will help next week, and hopefully, we get some better news on Mo Hurst than I'm anticipating."

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently shared his insights on the situation surrounding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk during an appearance on the network's "NFL Live" show. Schefter clarified that while Aiyuk would like to remain with the 49ers, his priority is securing a contract that reflects his value, regardless of the team.
When questioned about Aiyuk's desire to stay with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Schefter responded, "Well, I think his desire to get paid is greater than his desire to stay in San Francisco, wherever that is. Brock Purdy weighs in on Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers contract talks
Brock Purdy set a San Francisco 49ers single-season record in 2023, throwing for 4,280 passing yards. Many of those yards came on passes to his top target, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who amassed a team-leading and career-high 1,342 receiving yards.
Purdy and Aiyuk have developed great chemistry on the football field, and the quarterback would like to build upon that for years to come. However, that is out of his control, and Aiyuk's future is in the hands of the front office.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will be present today as the team reports for the start of its offseason program. Purdy was a little early, as he hosted a youth football camp over the weekend.
Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group spoke to the 49ers quarterback during the event and asked him about one of his teammates, Brandon Aiyuk. The star wide receiver is currently in contract extension negotiations with the 49ers, and the team has emphasized keeping him around for the foreseeable future as an offseason priority.
