'The production speaks for itself': Marc Ross says 49ers must exercise Nick Bosa's fifth-year option

By David Bonilla

It's time for NFL teams to start thinking about exercising the fifth-year options of their first-round picks in the 2019 NFL draft. That includes some pretty big names, like Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. The window to exercise those options opened on Monday, with the deadline set for May 2. NFL Media analyst Marc Ross went through each first-round pick from 2019, voting "Yes" or "No" to indicate whether he feels their respective teams should exercise the fifth-year option. For the San Francisco 49ers, that means looking at the possibilities for defensive end Nick Bosa. This one seems like a no-brainer. Bosa is the team's best pass rusher and its best player on the defensive side of the ball. He is a foundational piece on defense, and the unit's

The San Francisco 49ers rallied to beat the division-rival Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the last weekend of the regular season. In doing so, head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad punched its ticket into the playoffs. Assuming they won, the 49ers' next opponent was already known, even as they were fighting for the win in overtime. A victory meant a trip to Arlington, Texas, to face the Dallas Cowboys, winners of the NFC East. On Sunday night, the NFL announced the date and time of the 49ers-Cowboys matchup. The two teams will kick off from AT&T Stadium on Sunday, January 16 at 1:30 PM PT (3:30 PM CT). San Francisco finished the season with a 10-7 record. It was just the second time in the past eight years that the 49ers have finished with a winning

By David Bonilla

ESPN's Ryan Clark gave huge props to Jimmy Garoppolo, saying the quarterback was a big reason why the San Francisco 49ers clinched a playoff berth with a thrilling 27-24 overtime road win against the Los Angeles Rams. Garoppolo was playing hurt but still delivered a gutsy performance in what might have been his last regular-season outing with the 49ers. Get Up co-host Dan Orlovsky is already looking toward the 49ers' first playoff opponent, the Dallas Cowboys, and feels the NFC East champions should be worried about facing a red-hot San Francisco squad. "It's a bad matchup for the Dallas Cowboys," Orlovsky declared to Clark and Mike Greenberg. "It's a bad matchup for anybody in the NFC. I think it's mostly a bad matchup for the Cowboys because the
