ESPN writer Bill Barnwell made his playoff predictions all the way to Super Bowl LVI. He has the Kansas City Chiefs topping the Los Angeles Rams 31-24 in the NFL's championship game. The first order of business for the San Francisco 49ers to ensure that isn't the matchup will be to beat the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys in the opening round of postseason play, which begins this weekend. While many like the 49ers' chances in this matchup, Barnwell isn't sure San Francisco can come out on top. He predicts a 27-14 Dallas win at AT&T Stadium on Sunday. Barnwell admits that the 49ers have a talented roster capable of upsetting any opponent. However, like many playoff teams this year, it is not without flaws. Barnwell doesn't like this matchup for the 49ers as

Things didn't look so hot for the San Francisco 49ers in October. The team was coming off a four-game losing streak, and their lofty postseason hopes looked more like wishful thinking. Then the season turned around. The Niners went on a run, and in the final week of the regular season, clinched a playoff berth. That run, paired with the upset win against the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys in the opening round of the playoffs, has given the 49ers a lot of confidence. The team believes it can beat anyone. However, the next task isn't an easy one. San Francisco will have to knock off the Green Bay Packers this weekend at Lambeau Field if it hopes to reach the NFC Championship Game for the second time in three seasons. Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young wouldn't

Jerry Rice believes 49ers seek more consistency from the QB position

A lot has been said about quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who is not expected to remain with the San Francisco 49ers after this season. However, he has them in the NFC Championship Game, one win away from returning to the Super Bowl. What if Garoppolo can carry the great 49ers organization to its sixth championship? Would that be enough to make the team's decision-makers rethink their plan? The 49ers have Garoppolo's successor on the roster. They traded multiple first-round picks to move into position to draft Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick last April. The plan was always to have Lance sit and learn while riding with Garoppolo as far as the 30-year-old quarterback could take him. On Wednesday, NFL legend Jerry Rice joined NFL Network's NFL Now.
