4th Quarter

SCORE ALERT: Aaron Rodgers finds Davante Adams for two major completions, a 33-yarder and 17-yarder, to set up a 51-yard field goal from Mason Crosby to win the game for the Packers 30-28.

SCORE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo delivers once again, finding Kyle Juszczyk for a 12-yard touchdown, giving the 49ers a 28-27 lead with 37 seconds remaining in the class.

QUARTER ALERT: As the two-minute warning comes, the 49ers trail 27-21 and have the ball at the GB 36 on 1st and 10.

On 3rd & 10 with 2:28 left in the 4th, Jimmy Garoppolo finds George Kittle over the middle, who muscles forward for 39 yards to the GB 36.

SCORE ALERT: On 3rd & 4, Aaron Rodgers's throw to Davante Adams is incomplete, causing the Packers to settle for a field goal after the Jimmy Garoppolo fumble to take a 27-21 lead with 2:39 remaining in the 4th quarter.

TURNOVER ALERT: On a promising San Francisco drive, Jimmy Garoppolo fumbles as he attempts to throw a pass, giving Green Bay the ball at the SF 38 with 4:58 remaining in the 4th quarter.

Aaron Rodgers misfires to Davante Adams on 3rd & 10, prompting a punt, and allowing the 49ers to tie or take the lead with 7:18 remaining in the 4th quarter.

INJURY ALERT: Davante Adams has returned to the game, following the timeout, for 3rd & 10.

SCORE ALERT: Trey Sermon gets his first NFL touchdown on a 1-yard carry to the endzone to cut the lead to 24-21 with 7:48 left in the 4th quarter.

Trey Lance has re-entered the game for the 49ers on 2nd & Goal from the GB 3.

REDZONE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo finds Kyle Juszczyk for a 12-yard gain, putting the 49ers in the redzone at the GB 18 with a first down.

On 3rd & 14 at the SF 15, Eric Stokes is called for defensive pass interference, costing the Packers 35 yards and giving the 49ers a first down.

SCORE ALERT: Aaron Rodgers finds Marques Valdez-Scantling in the back of the endzone for a touchdown on 3rd & 4 to increase Green Bay's lead to 24-14 with 13:32 left in the 4th quarter.

3rd Quarter

QUARTER ALERT: The Packers lead the 49ers 17-14 at the end of the third quarter and have the ball at the SF 18.

The 49ers fail to capitalize on their opportunity to take the lead as Preston Smith goes unblocked and hits Jimmy Garoppolo as the ball is coming out, forcing an incompletion and a punt.

Davante Adams surprisingly drops the 3rd & 1 pass from Aaron Rodgers, forcing a punt and giving San Francisco the chance to take the lead.

SCORE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo finds Brandon Aiyuk for the 8-yard touchdown on 3rd & Goal for Aiyuk's first touchdown of the season. San Francisco now trails 17-14 to Green Bay.

REDZONE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo fires in a beautiful pass to Deebo Samuel around three defenders on 3rd & 9 to set up another redzone opportunity at the GB 8.

Aiyuk continues to get his name called as he gets the carry on the end-around for nine yards on 1st & 10.

Great playcall by Kyle Shanahan on the screen play, as Deebo Samuel gains 19 yards on the play, getting a first down.

INJURY ALERT: Josh Norman(chest) is OUT for the remainder of today's game.

2nd Quarter

QUARTER ALERT: At halftime, the Packers lead the 49ers 17-7, with San Francisco receiving the second-half kickoff.

SCORE ALERT: Trey Lance comes in for one play with two seconds left and gets blocking from Trent Williams to get a touchdown before the half. The 49ers now trail 17-7.

The 49ers are forced to burn their final timeout after a short completion over the middle to Kyle Juszczyk with 24 seconds left in the half.

REDZONE ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo finds Mohammed Sanu for an 11-yard gain after a 10-yard completion to George Kittle two plays before, leading the 49ers inside the redzone to the GB 11.

Trenton Cannon returns the kickoff 68 yards to the GB 32 to give the 49ers some life before the half.

SCORE ALERT: Aaron Rodgers cuts back to the left side for a 3-yard touchdown to give the Packers a 17-0 lead with 1:02 remaining in the first half.

REDZONE ALERT: Davante Adams kills Dontae Johnson on his route and is inside the SF 5 on a 19-yard completion from Aaron Rodgers.

As the Packers drive down the field, it makes the 49ers decision to punt near Packers territory on 4th and 1 even more questionable.

On 3rd down at the GB 17, Emmanuel Moseley is flagged for a 32-yard pass interference, extending the Green Bay drive once again due to a huge penalty.

After getting stuffed on 3rd & 1 from their own 49, San Francisco questionably punts the ball away, and Green Bay will take over at their own 13.

SACK ALERT: Jimmy Garoppolo is sacked by T.J. Slaton as pressure almost immediately came to the quarterback. Alex Mack was beat immediately by DT Tyler Lancaster, prompting the sack.

With Jaire Alexander near Deebo Samuel in zone coverage, Brandon Aiyuk has been heavily targeted to start this game. He has his third catch of the game already, this time for a first down.

The 49ers finally get a first down after two impressive catches: one from Brandon Aiyuk on second down and one from Deebo Samuel on 3rd down. Huge completions.

Brandon Aiyuk gets his second catch of the day on a six-yard catch, setting up 3rd and 4 for the 49ers. He now leads the 49ers in receptions in this game.

Following a physical tackle by Josh Norman and Deommodore Lenoir to stop Aaron Jones short of the 1st down on 3rd & 4, the 49ers force an Aaron Rodgers completion to retain possession of the ball.

REDZONE ALERT: After driving down the field following the interception with a 10-yard completion to Davante Adams and a 10-yard rush by Aaron Jones, the Packers are once again in the redzone, facing a 1st down at the SF 12.

TURNOVER ALERT: Jaire Alexander intercepts Jimmy Garoppolo near midfield on a deep pass to George Kittle. Garoppolo hadn't thrown an interception prior to the pass attempt.

1st Quarter

SACK ALERT: Arik Armstead gets to Aaron Rodgers in a collapsing pocket on 3rd & 8 to force a Green Bay punt. Almost every 49er rushing the quarterback was over Rodgers on the play.

Lenoir commits a 25-yard defensive pass interference penalty, extending the Packers drive on 3rd & 4. They now have 1st and 10 at the GB 41.

Deommodore Lenoir has entered the game in the slot, replacing K'Waun Williams. He started for the 49ers over the past two weeks.

George Kittle gets a nice nine-yard gain on a TE handoff to set up 3rd & 1, but Jimmy Garoppolo fails to find George Kittle on a crosser, forcing the 49ers to punt once again.

INJURY ALERT: K'Waun Williams(calf) is questionable to return.

REDZONE ALERT: Aaron Rodgers delivers a deep ball strike to Marques Valdez-Scantling for 48 yards, setting up another redzone opportunity at the SF 19.

The 49ers are forced to punt on their first drive as Mitch Wishnowsky delivers a touchback after a Jimmy Garoppolo incompletion to Mohammed Sanu on 3rd and 6.

After getting only one catch in the first two weeks of the season, Brandon Aiyuk gets his first catch of the day early: a seven-yard reception.

Trey Sermon's first NFL carry is a three-yard loss on a failed pitch to the outside.

SCORE ALERT: Mason Crosby kicks in a 54-yard field goal to put the Packers up 3-0 following multiple defensive stops by the 49ers.

REDZONE ALERT: After an 11-yard completion to Aaron Jones, Aaron Rodgers has the Packers in the redzone at the SF 15.

The Packers are starting off with the ball, as the 49ers defer to the second half.

Pregame

The Packers starting offensive line is: LT Yosh Nijman, LG Jon Runyan, C Josh Myers, RG Royce Newman, and RT Billy Turner.

Trey Sermon is expected to be the starter at running back for the 49ers and Deebo Samuel/Brandon Aiyuk are the expected starting receivers.

The 49ers are rocking their red 1994 throwback jerseys today for their home opener against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night.

Emmanuel Moseley is ACTIVE today, meaning that he will take one of the starting outside cornerback spots after missing the past two weeks with a knee injury. Josh Norman, not Deommodore Lenoir, is expected to start opposite Moseley, likely due to size.

The 49ers inactives for the game are: CB Dre Kirkpatrick, RB Elijah Mitchell, OL Aaron Banks, and CB Ambry Thomas. Three of the four players are rookies and this confirms that Mitchell, who was considered doubtful with a shoulder injury, will not play tonight.

By David Bonilla
Apr 18

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently shared his insights on the situation surrounding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk during an appearance on the network's "NFL Live" show. Schefter clarified that while Aiyuk would like to remain with the 49ers, his priority is securing a contract that reflects his value, regardless of the team. When questioned about Aiyuk's desire to stay with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Schefter responded, "Well, I think his desire to get paid is greater than his desire to stay in San Francisco, wherever that is. If the 49ers want to pay him, I'm sure he'd love to stay in San Francisco. If another team would like to pay him, I'm sure he'd like to go

Jordan Reid and Matt Miller pinpointed players who could hear their names called at the end of the first round. Interestingly, both of the prospects identified by Reid and Miller play in the trenches but on different sides of the ball. The San Francisco 49ers are widely expected to draft an offensive lineman with their first selection—No. 31 overall. The team mostly ignored the group in free agency. However, it wouldn't surprise many people if the
