At one point, the San Francisco 49ers looked to be on its way to a dominating victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 1. However, a late surge by the home team at Ford Field made the game closer than anticipated. The Niners did manage to escape with the 41-33 win, though.

  • Mitchell's 38-yd. TD run was the longest by a 49ers rookie since WR Brandon Aiyuk had a 38-yd. rushing TD vs. Phi. (10/4/20).

Instant Impact


  • According to the Elias Sports Bureau, with Lance's TD pass and Mitchell's rushing TD, the 49ers duo became the first rookies to register at least 1 TD pass and 1 rushing TD in their NFL debut since The Washington Football Team's QB Robert Griffin III and RB Alfred Morris accomplished the feat in 2012.

  • He now has 2 career rec TDs and registered his first since 12/16/18 at Atl. as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

Greenlaw And Order


  • LB Dre Greenlaw intercepted Lions QB Jared Goff and returned the pass 39 yds. for a TD.
  • The INT marked the 2nd for Greenlaw and first since 11/11/19 vs. Sea. (47 yds.).
  • Greenlaw became the first member of the 49ers to return an INT for a TD since DT Javon Kinlaw had a 27-yd. INT returned for a TD at LAR (11/29/20).

  • DL Kentavius Street brought down Lions QB Jared Goff for a 10-yd. sack, the first of Street's career. He finished the game with 3 tackles and 1.0 sacks.

  • DL Nick Bosa brought down Goff for an 8-yd. sack, the 10th of his career and first since 12/15/19 vs. Atl. (1.0 sack).

Built Ford Tough At Ford Field


  • DL Dee Ford brought down Goff for a 6-yd. sack, marking his first sack since 11/17/19 vs. Arz. (1.0 sack). He now has 38.0 sacks in his career.

Last week, it was reported that the San Francisco 49ers planned to host former Kentucky cornerback Andru Phillips on a pre-draft visit. 49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks. Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
