What 49ers fans can expect at Levi’s Stadium this season

It's finally here. Training camp has started and members of The Faithful are one step closer to getting back to Levi's Stadium to cheer on the 49ers after a season-long hiatus.

Last year's COVID-19-related season caused the 49ers to play at home without their usual loud crowd and the team was forced to play a few home games in Arizona due to the spreading of COVID-19 in the Santa Clara area.

The last time that fans were allowed into the stadium was when the 49ers hammered the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game to the tune of 37-20 before falling to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Coincidentally, the 49ers host those same Packers during their season debut at Levi's in Week 3 of their season, which is when the team will also debut their fan-favorite red throwback jerseys for the first time since 1994.

This season, with more than 90% of the team vaccinated, per the 49ers, the team is looking forward to bringing back fans and getting the full Levi's experience with a playoff-hopeful team.

With that said, let's get into what 49ers fans can expect at Levi's Stadium this season.

1. Cache Creek Casino Resort Club

The 49ers and Cache Creek are extending their pre-existing partnership for the 2021 NFL season and are announcing a brand-new Cache Creek Casino Resort Club at Levi's Stadium, per 49ers communications.

Located on the field level under the north end of the stadium, the club is open exclusively to VIP members and will be one of the revamped areas of the stadium in preparation for the upcoming season.

49ers President Al Guido was excited about the club reveal with Cache Creek and believes that the casino shares values similar to those of the 49ers, which was a key reason in extending the partnership.

"We really truly believe this will bring two organizations, two pillars of our community, together. [It is] not just to give our VIP [fans] an experience on gameday, but truly all of the things we do throughout the year," Guido told reporters. "This [Cache Creek] organization [standing] behind me, the philanthropy, the employment, all the things they do is no different than [how] we think about the San Francisco 49ers. We are not just about what we do on the field, but also about what we do off the field, and I honestly could not be happier today to welcome you all in person to see these [Cache Creek individuals] in person, and then literally next week to welcome back 70,000 fans of the Faithful."

With the announcement of the brand new Cache Creek Club, members of the VIP section will have an added bonus when cheering for the 49ers on gamedays.

2. Mask Mandate

Earlier this offseason, during the annual State of the Franchise, Guido stated that the team expects Levi's Stadium to be at full capacity for the upcoming season and more updates were given on that stance Thursday.

The 49ers will enforce a mask mandate in air-conditioned spaces (basically inside buildings) to uphold the Santa Clara County health and safety protocols, but will not require masks in any outdoor spaces, nor will they have a vaccinated and unvaccinated designation across the stadium.

So, when members of The Faithful are cheering on their team from the stands or getting food outside, masks are not required. However, the team does advise that people be mindful of their surroundings in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment around Levi's Stadium.

In addition, tailgating outside the stadium will not require masks as the events would take place outdoors and outside of the stadium. Still, the 49ers remind fans to be mindful and be safe in those environments.

3. New Levi's Print Shop

The 49ers are announcing a NEW Levi's Print Shop within the 49ers Team Store presented by Visa where fans can now make their own customized apparel in a quick and easy process to support their team.

Inside the 49ers store, there is a designated section where fans can use a provided electronic device to produce clothing of their choice. Best of all, the process goes very quickly, making your 49ers shopping experience the best that it can be.

4. 49ers Museum presented by Foxconn Industrial Internet

For the first time since January 2020, the 49ers are re-opening their 49ers Museum presented by Foxconn Industrial Internet.

The museum, which will be open on game days and the day before game days, houses the 49ers Hall of Fame, as well as several artifacts, some of which have been added over the past two seasons.

The museum opens to the public this Friday and there are in-person tours available both Friday and Saturday. Buy your tickets fast, as they are available for sale until midnight on Friday.


Access to the museum is free for ALL season-ticket holders and $15 for non-ticket holders.

In addition, the museum plans to add three more statues to the 49ers Hall of Fame: linebacker Patrick Willis, wide receiver John Taylor and defensive lineman Bryant Young.

5. New Stadium Seats

The 49ers are also glad to announce that they have new stadium seats for the 2021 NFL season. The organization has been working tirelessly to make sure the fan experience will be as pristine as possible when fans return to Levi's for the upcoming year.

While the railings remain the same, the 49ers have replaced the old seats with brand-new red seats which will only make the experience better as fans cheer on their team from the stands.


With much happening around Levi's Stadium in preparation for the 2021 season, there is much to be excited about when Levi's welcomes back fans for the first time since January 2020.
