49ers excited about what they see from DE Nick Bosa as camp begins

will soon go through his first practices with the San Francisco 49ers since tearing his ACL last September, but if his offseason workouts are any indication, he appears to be ready to go.
Bosa's 2020 season came to an end due to the injury, which took place against the New York Jets on September 20. He's been working on rehabbing the injury since then and has
made it a point over the past few months to share videos on his progress, both in a public capacity and in private with the 49ers.
"The coolest thing with Nick is he's pretty good with documenting his workouts and sending them our way," 49ers general manager John Lynch said during a media session on Tuesday. "So even though he hasn't been here the entire time -- he's been here sporadically, he'd come out for a week or so -- you always get to see videos."
Lynch went into some detail about Bosa's videos on Tuesday, saying Bosa has been showing encouraging improvement throughout the offseason.
"He doesn't put them all on Instagram," Lynch said. "He sends us some ones, but they're always exciting just because you got to see his progress. He keeps getting better, so that's a good sign for us."
If Bosa isn't ready to play to start the season, it won't be from lack of trying. Lynch raved about the effort he saw from Bosa during his videos, saying the regimen Bosa put together was remarkable to see.
"You never have to question his work ethic. It is a special routine he has developed," Lynch said. "It's fun to watch a guy like that work. We've got a lot of respect and admiration, not only for player, but you get to see what goes into making that player, and it's a lot of hard work."
The 49ers will get a good look at Bosa in action once training camp begins Wednesday. Bosa met with head coach Kyle Shanahan on Monday, then will be back on the field Wednesday and will take the next step towards being ready for the season.
"Looked great in person. Saw him yesterday," Shanahan told reporters Tuesday. "We got to talk to him (for) about a half hour, just catch up. He feels good. Obviously we're going to ease him in and stuff and we're going to see him move a little bit tomorrow for the first time in person, but (he) looked great and it felt a lot better having him back in the building."

Rumor: Steelers believe they can acquire 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk at a bargain
According to Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein, who writes for "All Steelers" on the network, there's a level of confidence within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization that they can strike a deal for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk—and at a bargain rate.
"According to a team source, the Steelers and 49ers trade talks are real," Strackbein wrote. "While nothing is imminent, they 'would be surprised if it didn't happen.' But it all comes down to compensation, and Pittsburgh isn't willing to budge much on price."
While it seems unlikely that the 49ers would part ways with Aiyuk for anything less than a first-round draft
Brock Purdy hopes to organize throwing session ahead of 49ers training camp
The San Francisco 49ers will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through 6, officially concluding the team's offseason program. After that, the Niners will break for over a month and return to the Santa Clara facilities for training camp in late July.
Between that time, starting quarterbacks will often organize throwing sessions with their receivers in an effort to build chemistry ahead of the rigors of training camp. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to participate in such sessions over the last two years. The last overall draft pick in 2022, Purdy had yet to make a name for himself during his first offseason. Last year, he was still recovering from offseason surgery on his throwing arm.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday
The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
