The videos keep coming. San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance has been working hard this offseason in preparation for training camp at the end of next month. The team concluded its offseason program last week, and now, it's up to each player to work on his own, stay in shape, and hone his skills before reconvening in Santa Clara on July 27.

Earlier this week, video surfaced of Lance working with teammate Mohamed Sanu. Then there was more video of Lance throwing to others while still working with Top Shelf Performance.

The latest video comes courtesy of quarterback coach Sean McEvoy. It was shared by Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

It sounds like Lance had a good offseason program. While Kyle Shanahan expects Jimmy Garoppolo to be the starting quarterback when Week 1 arrives, the head coach isn't closing the door on any possibilities. That could all depend on what happens in training camp.

San Francisco is playing Garoppolo a lot of money, though, assuming that he will be the starter and Lance will use his extra time as the backup to continue learning the offense.

"I definitely see it as Jimmy's the starter," Shanahan recently told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. "But if Trey's ready to compete, I have no problem with it. I don't sit there and say, 'Hey, we're not playing a rookie quarterback. We have to rest him the first year.' I don't really make any decisions like that until I actually have an opinion on it. That'll take to how I see him in camp. If he comes in and he's playing at a high level and we think he gives us the best chance to win, we wouldn't hesitate to do that."

Brock Purdy hopes to organize throwing session ahead of 49ers training camp

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

The San Francisco 49ers will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through 6, officially concluding the team's offseason program. After that, the Niners will break for over a month and return to the Santa Clara facilities for training camp in late July. Between that time, starting quarterbacks will often organize throwing sessions with their receivers in an effort to build chemistry ahead of the rigors of training camp. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to participate in such sessions over the last two years. The last overall draft pick in 2022, Purdy had yet to make a name for himself during his first offseason. Last year, he was still recovering from offseason surgery on his throwing arm. RELATED:

"Thank God for Mr. Irrelevant": John Lynch reflects on 49ers drafting Trey Lance

By David Bonilla
Apr 22

The decision to trade up in the 2021 NFL Draft and select quarterback Trey Lance could have had significant consequences for general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. With the team lacking first-round picks in the last two drafts due to this move, and Lance no longer on the roster after being traded to the Dallas Cowboys before last season, it's clear the gamble didn't unfold as expected. Lynch held his annual pre-draft press conference on Monday, reflecting on the decision to take such a big chance on Lance. While such a bold move might have jeopardized jobs elsewhere, Lynch and Shanahan were blessed with some good fortune in the 2022 NFL Draft. Acknowledging the support of the team's ownership, Lynch stated, "They believe in Kyle and I, and our
