Everyone ok? I'm just checking to make sure. The San Francisco 49ers won another game in the final couple of minutes, testing the blood pressure of fans everywhere. This time the win came against the Philadelphia Eagles, after a tough, close, physical game. Bay Area cardiologists have been busy these first couple of weeks since the 2021 NFL season began. The final score was 17-11, but it was much closer than that, and early on, it didn't look good for the 49ers. Here are my nerve-wracking post-game observations from the 49ers week two win: Despite looking putrid, at times, the 49ers offense still performed well. Jimmy Garoppolo was bad, good, bad and good. The San Francisco 49ers were the first team on the scoreboard at Ford Field after rookie quarterback Trey Lance tossed a five-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Trent Sherfield in the first quarter. The scoring drive that twice featured Lance coming In for veteran Jimmy Garoppolo resulted in the 49ers taking an early 7-0 lead over the home-team Detroit Lions. San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell capped off the team's third drive of its season opener with a 38-yard touchdown run. The score gave the Bay Area squad a 14-7 lead over the home-team Detroit Lions. Rookie got the edge and he's GONE. #[email protected] | @49ers📺:



49ers RB Elijah Mitchell nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week after win over Lions

San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell has been nominated for his first Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week Award. The nomination comes after the Niners' 41-33 Week 1 road win over the Detroit Lions. Mitchell finished the game with 104 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, entering the lineup after Raheem Mostert exited with a knee injury. The other award nominees are quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Mac Jones of the New England Patriots, wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals and DeVonta Smith of the Philadelphia Eagles, and cornerback Paulson Adebo of the New Orleans
