San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, general manager John Lynch, and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello were in attendance for Justin Fields' pro day in Columbus, Ohio, last week. The same trio will represent the team on Monday at former North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance's second pro day workout in Fargo, per NBC Sports Bay Area.

On March 26, San Francisco surrendered four draft picks, including its first-rounders in the next three drafts, to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the No. 3 overall pick. The team is expected to select a future replacement for Jimmy Garoppolo, with the three leading candidates being Fields, Lance, and Mac Jones of Alabama.

Jones was the betting favorite to be the No. 3 pick until Fields' workout last week. Oddsmakers then placed the former Ohio State Buckeye at the top of the list. Lance's workout on Monday could have a similar impact.

The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off on April 29 from Cleveland, Ohio.

49ers actively negotiating with Brandon Aiyuk, not discussing trades, says John Lynch

By David Bonilla
Mar 25

General manager John Lynch addressed reporters at the NFL owners meetings on Monday, emphasizing the San Francisco 49ers' active pursuit of a contract extension for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. There has been significant speculation surrounding Aiyuk's status this offseason. The receiver is slated to play on his fifth-year option, which guarantees him $14.124 million in 2024. While the team would be content with Aiyuk playing on that fifth-year option, it would prefer to secure the star receiver to a long-term deal before he returns to the field.
