With a speed rating of 97, 49ers running back Raheem Mostert is already one of the fastest players available in the latest installment of the Madden NFL video game series, Madden NFL 21. But apparently, he thinks he should be rated even higher.

And, truth be told, Mostert has a point. Mostert was clocked by NFL Next Gen Stats as having the two fastest runs of the 2020 season -- an 80-yard touchdown against the Jets in Week 2 during which he was clocked at 23.09 MPH and a 76-yard catch against the Cardinals in Week 1 that saw him reach 22.73 MPH. Mostert posted highlights of the two runs to his Instagram account Saturday, along with a request to have his Madden NFL 21 score raised to a maximum mark of 99.

"@eamaddennfl, Ima need that speed rating at a 99 😏🏎💨💨 Please and thank you," Mostert wrote.

Mostert isn't the first NFL player to request his speed rating get raised to 99. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill also made that request in 2018 and wound up getting his rating raised to 99 after speaking to someone with game publisher EA Sports. Hill is currently the game's fastest player, followed by Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs at 98 and Mostert, Ravens receiver Marquise Brown, Eagles receiver Marquise Goodwin, and Chiefs receiver Mecole Hardman at 97.

Time will tell if Mostert is successful with his request. But if anyone deserves to be put on the same level as Hill, it's Mostert. Mostert was a standout on the track in college at Purdue, once posting a 10.15-second mark in the 100-meter dash and a 20.65-second mark in the 200-meter dash. Hill once ran a 200-meter time of 20.14 and a 100-meter time of 10.19 while also once reaching sub-ten second time in the 100-meter dash with a tailwind. Hill's fastest run during the 2020 season reached a peak speed of 21.91 seconds.

Updated list of 49ers draft picks in 2024 after NFL penalty

By David Bonilla

The NFL has penalized the San Francisco 49ers for payroll accounting errors that occurred at the end of the 2022 league year. This has led to the team forfeiting their fifth-round draft pick in 2025 and a reduction in their fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft. San Francisco's fourth-round selection, initially No. 131 overall, now shifts down four spots to the end of the round at No. 135, following the compensatory picks from that round. Despite this setback, the 49ers still possess 10 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft but will be short a pick next year. The team's selections in the upcoming draft are as follows: Round 1, Pick 31 Overall Round
