A fan recently told Kendrick Bourne via the receiver's Twitch stream to tell San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Bourne didn't seem to appreciate the comment and defended his quarterback.

"Jimmy Garoppolo gonna stay a Niner, bro," Bourne responded to the fan. "Jimmy Garoppolo is staying a Niner, bro, and he gonna start, and he gonna ball."

@OurSF49ers captured Bourne's comments.

Many have speculated that the 49ers might consider upgrading from Garoppolo this offseason. That has led to many rumors linking San Francisco to any quarterback who has become or might become available. The team reportedly inquired about Matthew Stafford and Carson Wentz but was not considered to be serious about either.

The 49ers are coming off a six-win season, which followed a Super Bowl appearance. Injuries played a big part in 2020's downfall. With a decreasing salary cap limit and some veteran talent's potential exodus, some wonder what the future might hold for San Francisco.

Bourne, 25, is among those 49ers veterans who could find a new NFL home this offseason. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month but hopes to stay with the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2017.

"I love the Niners, though, and they're still in the conversation with me," Bourne recently told Bay Area News Group. "They've told me they want me back, so that's definitely still an option.

"They've got me as a good priority, I feel. They show a lot interest and are trying to get something done. I'm not their top priority, but they appreciate everything I've done the last few years. It's a good relationship, and the building is awesome."

Added Bourne: "I'm trying to get back to the Super Bowl, and that's going to be a big part of my decision."

We're just 10 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft. While many gain more confidence about their projections for the top of the first round, the picture of what might happen further down remains murky. Most predict the San Francisco 49ers will use their first selection, No. 31 overall, on an offensive lineman. However, an early run on the position may alter those plans. The 49ers may address another position, or they may have to move up to secure a top prospect. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates recently revealed a joint three-round mock draft, examining the top 100 selections and forecasting

The San Francisco 49ers have overhauled their defensive line in free agency, bidding farewell to defensive tackle Arik Armstead and defensive end Chase Young while bolstering their ranks with the signings of defensive ends Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos. Additionally, they acquired defensive tackle Maliek Collins via trade. Having focused primarily on the defensive side of the ball in free agency, the 49ers are widely anticipated to turn their attention to the offensive side in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Long-standing ESPN analyst Mel Kiper unveiled his latest mock draft, this

Analyst Steve Palazzolo unveiled a first-round mock draft for Pro Football Focus, attempting to forecast the selections for each NFL team within the top 32 picks. While the San Francisco 49ers concentrated on strengthening the defensive line in free agency, Palazzolo envisions the team continuing to fortify that side of the ball. In his mock draft, Palazzolo predicts that the 49ers will select former Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa with the No. 31 overall pick. "Tampa's unique fluidity and size for a cornerback make him worthy of a top-75 pick," reads the analysis from Pro Football Focus' big board. "If he can clean up his footwork, he can

Deebo Samuel and Brock Purdy are why the 49ers can afford to pay Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 10

It's evident that the San Francisco 49ers engaged in long-term financial planning. Much discussion has centered around the feasibility of the team committing significant financial resources to two wide receivers, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Some skeptics question the wisdom of such heavy investment in a single position, especially considering that the 49ers handed Samuel a substantial three-year extension merely two years ago. Adding complexity to this debate is the impending contract extension for quarterback Brock Purdy, positioning him to become the highest-paid player on the team. He will likely even become one of the NFL's highest-paid players. Where he ranks in average salary will depend upon whether he can replicate the stellar performance of his Pro Bowl 2023
