The San Francisco 49ers are adding Illinois wide receivers coach Andrew Hayes-Stoker to head coach Kyle Shanahan's staff. According to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM, he will serve as an offensive quality control coach.

Hayes-Stoker spent the last five seasons with the Fighting Illini, where he worked under Lovie Smith. He previously worked under Smith with the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and had a brief stint as an assistant with the Indianapolis Colts before joining Illinois in 2016.

"Andrew Hayes-Stoker is one of the brightest young coaches in the game," said Smith via the Illinois football official website. "Since joining our staff with the Bears, I've seen him continue to learn the game and develop as a teacher. I know he'll be outstanding in coaching our receivers and as a recruiter."

Between his stints with the Bears and Buccaneers, Hayes-Stoker was a running backs coach at Florida Atlantic in 2013. He played running back at TCU from 1999-2002.

Analyst Steve Palazzolo unveiled a first-round mock draft for Pro Football Focus, attempting to forecast the selections for each NFL team within the top 32 picks. In his mock draft, Palazzolo predicts that the 49ers will select former Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa with the No. 31 overall pick. "Tampa's unique fluidity and size for a cornerback make him worthy of a top-75 pick," reads the analysis from Pro Football Focus' big board. "If he can clean up his footwork, he can

With only nine days remaining until the start of the 2024 NFL Draft, Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager revealed his first mock draft of the year. Schrager has the 49ers using the No. 31 overall pick to select former Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey, whose 2023 campaign with the Bulldogs was limited by back and ankle injuries. "McConkey in the first round? Yes," Schrager wrote. "Above guys like Troy Franklin and Keon Coleman? Perhaps. I've spoken to a

By Marc Adams

No one is perfect. Each of us makes mistakes. I do for sure. Peruse your way through the many articles I've written for 49ers Webzone and you'll see plenty of mistakes. Whether it's a typo or some prediction I offered that didn't go as I had thought. The San Francisco 49ers are no different. John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have made their share of mistakes. Fortunately for all of us, they hit on more than they miss. But I wonder if we were able to catch them in a moment of complete transparency if they might admit to wanting to hit the Ctrl+Z and "undo" some moves. I doubt they will admit to such mistakes anytime soon, but fear not—I'm here to do it for them. Yes, I could write on the best decisions
