It's the offseason. So why not speculate on what it might take for the San Francisco 49ers to land disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson? One suggestion by former NFL player Ross Tucker, during an interview on 95.7 The Game, was a little too wild for a 49ers wide receiver's liking.

Tucker mentioned the 49ers' young pass-rushing star after being asked if anyone is untouchable in creating a tempting enough package to acquire Watson.

"I would say Nick Bosa, but if you can get Deshaun Watson, I think even Bosa is touchable," Tucker said. "I'm sure they don't want to do it, and I'm sure they'd even rather give up picks, but as great as Nick is, if you get a chance to get a top-five quarterback in the NFL, you have to do it.

"So I would say they would fight like the dickens to not have Nick Bosa be part of it, but ultimately, if that's what it took, that's what they would do."

It is an idea so crazy that our own podcast hosts, Al Sacco and Zain Naqvi, didn't even want to address the topic in their latest episode.

Deebo Samuel also doesn't like Bosa's name being floated out there as part of a potential trade and made his feelings clear on an Instagram story, shared below by @OurSF49ers. Samuel calls his defensive teammate "untouchable."

Of course, this is all speculation and gossip at this point, and there is no evidence that Bosa's name is even being considered as part of a trade or that any trade is even in the works. A deal to acquire a player like Watson would require significant compensation, with many believing that any discussions might start at two — maybe three — first-round picks.

At the same time, many feel that a marriage between Watson and head coach Kyle Shanahan would instantly make the 49ers Super Bowl contenders for years to come.

Watson led the league with a career-high 4,823 passing yards through 16 games in 2020, completing 70.2 percent of his passes while throwing 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Texans made him the No. 12 overall pick out of Clemson in 2017.

With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, it's common for the rumor mill to start churning, especially with players who are actively seeking a new contract. It was just two short years ago that WR Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers prior to draft day, only for cooler heads to prevail and eventually agree to a new deal. Now, it's WR Brandon Aiyuk's turn to try and get paid and rumors surfaced over the weekend that he too would request to be dealt. While that report was quickly shot down by his agent, there's still a lot of discussion about Aiyuk's future and if other teams will come calling on draft night. Former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh claims to have recently spoken to Brandon Aiyuk, stating that the star player has no desire to leave the San Francisco 49ers. Aiyuk and the 49ers are currently negotiating a contract extension, aiming to finalize a new deal. Of course, that hasn't prevented significant media speculation surrounding Aiyuk's future, with many wondering if the delay might hint at a potential trade. Well-informed 49ers fans know that the team typically finalizes its significant contract extensions closer to training camp, as seen with George Kittle in 2020, Fred Warner in 2021, and Deebo Samuel in 2022. Last year, negotiations with Nick Bosa concluded just days before Week
