49ers projected to land two offensive stars in Draft Network seven-round mock
By Kirk Larrabee

Mock drafts are a dime a dozen this time of year, and most of them wind up projecting something unexciting that has already been projected several times before. But every once in a while, a mock draft comes along that is interesting enough to single out and discuss on its own, like this one from Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network.
Fowler put together a complete seven-round mock for the 49ers using The Draft Network's endlessly entertaining Mock Draft Machine and came up with an intriguing list of players that includes two of college football's biggest offensive stars over the past two seasons. The first is quarterback Justin Fields of Ohio State, whom Fowler has going to the 49ers in Round 1. The second

Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus calls former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts a "generational" prospect leading up to the reveal of the analytics site's latest mock draft — a two-round affair. He notes that his selections don't necessarily predict what he believes NFL teams will do in the upcoming draft, but what he would do if he were making each of the selections for each organization.

General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan own the No. 12 overall pick, and could go in several directions. Some wonder if the team might even make a move to add a rookie quarterback.
This mock draft, like many others, has the top four quarterback prospects long gone before the 49ers' first selection. Not that Barrows would have gone in that direction anyway. Cornerback Patrick Surtain II of Alabama heads to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 10. The New York Giants select tight end Kyle Pitts of Florida at

NFL Media analyst Charley Casserly released his first mock draft and has the San Francisco 49ers landing his top-rated pass rusher, Kwity Paye of Michigan, with the No. 12 overall pick.
It is noteworthy that Casserly has quarterback Justin Fields of Ohio State enduring a massive fall in Round 1. In fact, he is available when San Francisco makes its first selection within this mock draft and is passed on by general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. Casserly has Fields falling all the way to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No.
