According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the San Francisco 49ers are working out veteran wide receiver Jordan Matthews.

Matthews spent three stints with the 49ers last year. The team signed him to a one-year deal on March 14, 2019, but released him during the roster cuts leading to the formation of the 53-man roster. San Francisco brought Matthews back for a few weeks in October before he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on November 11, 2019.

Matthews signed again with the 49ers on December 11, 2019, but was allowed to hit free agency in March.

The Philadelphia Eagles made Matthews a second-round draft pick out of Vanderbilt in 2014. He spent several stints with the Eagles and played for the Buffalo Bills in 2017.

"With Jordan, the best thing is how much he's played," head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Matthews last year. "He's played a lot of football. He's a very reliable guy. We don't mind putting him in there at any position. The game's not too big for him. He plays very physical. He's a big guy. He can run also. He's got good hands."

Matthews has six years of NFL experience and has 274 receptions for 3,288 yards and 22 touchdowns during his career.
