ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, Mike Tannenbaum, and Field Yates aren't wavering from their Mac Jones to San Francisco 49ers draft predictions. They all still feel that the former Alabama quarterback is the most likely pick at No. 3 in next week's draft and explained why on Tuesday morning on ESPN's Get Up! "I still think the San Francisco 49ers look at Mac Jones and go, 'When he's going to be our quarterback, we're going to win a lot of games with this guy,'" Orlovsky told host Mike Greenberg and the others. "And because he's so good at knowing who to throw the football to, and when he has to throw the football to them, and where exactly it needs to be thrown, we won't lose a lot of games with him either." Orlovsky admits that the ceilings are higher with Justin

PFF prefers Justin Fields but still predicts Mac Jones to 49ers in mock draft

Add yet another mock draft to the pile of those that have the San Francisco 49ers selecting former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones with the No. 3 overall pick over Justin Fields of Ohio State and Trey Lance of North Dakota State. Andrew Erickson of Pro Football Focus has head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch following the narrative created by Chris Simms, Adam Schefter, Daniel Jeremiah, and other national analysts. That doesn't mean Erickson sees Jones as the better prospect. The projection is just based on what is being heard around the league — not that anyone can say with any certainty what the 49ers plan to do. "Although I personally don't agree with the selection — Justin Fields would be the better option — Jones still

Richard Sherman still betting on Justin Fields to 49ers in draft

On Wednesday, Justin Fields worked out in front of San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, general manager John Lynch, and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello. Was it enough to convince the trio that he — not Mac Jones nor Trey Lance — should be the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming draft? We may not know the answer to that until April 29. Former cornerback Richard Sherman already explained why drafting Fields made sense for his former squad. "He's been at a program that competes at a high level year in and year out," Sherman said last week on The Cris Collinsworth Podcast, which he co-hosts, "always in a championship, always in

Peter Schrager on draft: 'I'm told the 49ers still have not made a decision'

Justin Fields of Ohio State. Trey Lance of North Dakota State. Mac Jones of Alabama. Who will it be for the San Francisco 49ers at the No. 3 spot in the upcoming draft? Everyone seems to have an opinion. While Fields remains the betting favorite to be the pick, many "experts" are still projecting Jones to the 49ers. That includes Peter Schrager of Good Morning Football, who released his latest mock draft on NFL.com on Tuesday morning. Schrager has Trevor Lawrence of Clemson going No. 1 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Zach Wilson of BYU going No. 2 to the New York Jets, as most mock drafts do. He has Jones as the 49ers'
