49ers open practice windows for Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, sign safety Chris Edwards, others

The San Francisco 49ers have signed safety Chris Edwards to a one-year deal. The team has also opened the practice window for two players on injured reserve — running backs Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. Mostert has been on injured reserve since October 24 as he recovered from a high-ankle sprain during a Week 6 contest against the Los Angeles Rams. Wilson suffered the same injury a week later against the New England Patriots and landed on injured reserve on October 31. The 49ers also announced that safety Kai Nacua and wide receiver Shawn Poindexter have been signed to the practice squad. The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown. 49ers plan to activate Richard Sherman, Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson ahead of Rams game

The San Francisco 49ers could be getting several players back in time for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that the team plans to activate cornerback Richard Sherman and running backs Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson off of injured reserve this weekend. "We'll get them on the roster tomorrow by 1 (p.m. PT)," Shanahan said. "They got better each day. Yesterday, we had to do a bunch of walkthrough stuff because of some of the circumstances, the guys we lost. So, we didn't get to go totally full-speed, and same thing today."
