Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores was asked this week about San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle. The Dolphins defense is tasked with trying to stop the Niners All-Pro, who is widely considered the best tight end in the game.

Flores acknowledged that stopping Kittle, who exploded on Sunday night for 183 receiving yards and a score, is nearly impossible.

"I don't think you stop him," Flores told 49ers reporters. "I think you just try to limit him. You try to give him different looks. ... When you've got a player like this, you've got to think about doubling a guy like this."

The Dolphins coach also noted that focusing on stopping or even limiting Kittle potentially opens things up for the other offensive weapons at the 49ers' disposal.

Kittle agrees.

On Thursday, the tight end was asked about Flores' comments and immediately discussed the 49ers' weapons and how much he enjoys being part of such a talented offense.

"We have a lot of weapons from our backfield to our wide receivers, tight ends," Kittle said. "I mean, even our run game; we've got weapons all over the field. It's fun to be a part of that offense. You can double me, you can hold me to a couple of catches and some yards; that is what it is. I'm still going to impact the game in the run game.

"We've still got wide receivers like Deebo (Samuel), [Kendrick Bourne], (Brandon) Aiyuk, Trent Taylor. We've got guys out there that can ball and make plays. And our backfield is pretty scary when everyone's healthy.

"We have a lot of weapons, and I'm excited to see each week how defenses game plan for us, and how we game plan for them. I'm looking forward to this weekend too because I really like the game plan, and I'm excited to run the ball (as an offense) a little bit."

PFF mock draft has 49ers adding cornerback with 'unique fluidity and size'

By David Bonilla
Apr 10

Analyst Steve Palazzolo unveiled a first-round mock draft for Pro Football Focus, attempting to forecast the selections for each NFL team within the top 32 picks. While the San Francisco 49ers concentrated on strengthening the defensive line in free agency, Palazzolo envisions the team continuing to fortify that side of the ball. In his mock draft, Palazzolo predicts that the 49ers will select former Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa with the No. 31 overall pick. "Tampa's unique fluidity and size for a cornerback make him worthy of a top-75 pick," reads the analysis from Pro Football Focus' big board. "If he can clean up his footwork, he can
