The San Francisco 49ers will gauge where Jimmy Garoppolo is today and whether or not the quarterback can practice this afternoon. His status for Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles remains up in the air.

Even Nick Mullens isn't sure which quarterback will be out there when the 49ers offense takes the field. He started during this past weekend's 36-9 win over the New York Giants to cap off a two-game road trip featuring back-to-back games at MetLife Stadium.

Mullens finished the game 25-of-36 for 343 yards with a touchdown and a passer rating of 108.9. He joined KNBR this morning and was asked if he will start against the Eagles.

"I'm not sure," Mullens responded on the Murph & Mac show. "But you just take it one day at a time and prepare like you're always the starter. That's a good question."

This past weekend's game was Mullens' ninth straight start with 220-or-more passing yards, a mark that ties 49ers legend Joe Montana, who accomplished the same thing in the 80s.

"You're pretty humbled and thankful for what that says," Mullens said. "Obviously, Joe Montana has the resume and the legacy that he has established. But for me to even have a way to relate to him is pretty cool. It means a lot to me, and it's pretty cool."

Mullens was also asked about his NFL future, and if he thinks he might start next season either for the 49ers or another team. The quarterback is scheduled to become a restricted free agent after this season.

"That's a good question," Mullen responded. "The thing that I would say is there's a lot that can happen between now and Week 17. So much happens in the NFL. ... But I will say over four years, I have grown super faithful, you could say, to the red and gold and San Francisco."

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently shared his insights on the situation surrounding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk during an appearance on the network's "NFL Live" show. Schefter clarified that while Aiyuk would like to remain with the 49ers, his priority is securing a contract that reflects his value, regardless of the team. When questioned about Aiyuk's desire to stay with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Schefter responded, "Well, I think his desire to get paid is greater than his desire to stay in San Francisco, wherever that is. If the 49ers want to pay him, I'm sure he'd love to stay in San Francisco. If another team would like to pay him, I'm sure he'd like to go

With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, ESPN contributors have highlighted some prospects who have seen their draft stock rise throughout the evaluation process. Jordan Reid and Matt Miller pinpointed players who could hear their names called at the end of the first round. Interestingly, both of the prospects identified by Reid and Miller play in the trenches but on different sides of the ball. The San Francisco 49ers are widely expected to draft an offensive lineman with their first selection—No. 31 overall. The team mostly ignored the group in free agency. However, it wouldn't surprise many people if the
