Sep 27, 2020 at 6:40 PM--

It was a very long day for the long snapper. Kyle Nelson, 33, the 49ers' longest-tenured player who has quietly and capably performed his job throughout his nine-year career, was replaced in the 49ers' 36-9 win over the Giants after a hideous and head-scratching performance.

49ers DT Javon Kinlaw discusses first sack, defensive performance

By Kirk Larrabee

49ers defensive tackle and first-round draft pick Javon Kinlaw hasn't yet put up the type of numbers he produced during his college career at the University of South Carolina, but he took a step towards changing that during the 49ers' 27-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. "They need some rest," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said following the loss to the Saints. "They need to get away. We'll have a couple of days just to keep guys loose and moving around a little bit so we don't get too far away from football, but this is as much of a needed rest as a team I've been on." The 49ers have had to deal with key injuries at almost
